Before they took all of the full-length motocross races off of youtube, I recently watched several of the 2000 AMA 125 Nationals with Pastrana, Roncada, Lamson, Jesseman, Vohland, Wey, Ramsey, etc. That my friends was a solid 125 class - really excellent racing that year on 125 dirtbikes.

Just came back from the track, riding my YZ125, and nothing beats reving that sucker uphill. Newer became a discussion about what bike, like brand or displacement, but I feel if I get beat, it has NOTHING to do with me riding a 125. I highly rec a YZ125 2006 or newer (if you are not a A-rider, looking for some local prize money), if you have the cash, buy a new one. I support KTMs passion, but feels like the YZ is so more solid, less issues with rods, sizing etc.

I promise you wont regret it. I have been riding for 10 years (after being into hibernation for 20 years), and the last 9 years went into a down spiral in excitement, went from what a blast mounted some old CRs, to well, it's good exercise as soon as I switched to 250fs, 450fs, and now since a year ago, I'm back having fun because of the 125 (and I get a good exercise as well).

I hear you man, loud and clear. I rode 250f's (both Honda and Yamaha) for several years, each of which I bought new at the time. I took a few years off due to school and a year ago decided to get back into the game and get another bike. I spent time looking into a new CRF or YZ250f purchase, but found a used 2007 CR125 that was like new in the local Craigslist. I figured, why not, for $1800 to buy a bike that had maybe 3 or 4 hours on it, how can I go wrong? And besides that, I was going back to what I had ridden years ago when first getting into the sport. Let me tell you, I have had a blast riding this thing and am really enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, ANY motocross bike is fun to ride, but the snappy feel of the motor, the sound of the rev, and the ability to really flick a 125 around is second to none. I am glad I didn't spend $6500.00 on a new 250f; the extra $4700.00 spent would not have given me any more smiles or thrills than this CR125 has.

I still owe more on it then it's worth and the transmission is just about shot.

im thinking of just getting another knee surgery, taking a decent break to get healthy and then coming back to the sport on a 125 or 250. Glad to hear you're stoked on the decision you made man!

I didn't know you were so fucked up buddy. I can attest to Ryan getting pretty good before he hung em up. Come to Albany this summer and I'll let ya ride my 250?

That was some great video, anyone who cannot appreciate that sound does not know what they are missing.

Ok, I will admit it... full wood just watching it. Pity my poor wife in about 10 minutes.

Funny story, as I was watching that video my 11 year old daughter peeks out of her bathroom (next to our home office), and asks what I was watching? I told her a MX video- and she said "oh, sounded like angry bee's"..... gotta love the 125cc.....
