I just want to back up what the others have said about Doug helping people. He also used his Exhaust Gas Analizer on my Honda and helped me dial in my Ecu mapping. He didn't know I was racing his class, and didn't seem worried about it. He needent have worried. The guy flat out rips, and is a pleasure to watch ride on the track. Just wanted to share and say Thanks again, Doug!

I've known Doug since he was 15 years old and wearing braces (he's 50 on sunday....sorry Doug had to mention that) and he's gone thru some pretty serious injuries over the years....he a tough guy with a huge heart which is why he's so loved in the industry. He (his wife) responded to my text to him last night...he's in alot of pain and sounds like theres going to be a long recovery but i'm sure in no time he'll be back at the races either riding or helping others as usual.Get well soon brother

I don't think Doug will...but...we'll work on that. Gina married a Racer & Factory Test-Rider. You know what? I don't hear her complaining. Furthermore, Doug is a helluva dad & he's missed more than a few "Moto-Events" these last few years to go be with his kids...instead. He may make his own decision about riding...from here on out...

That really has Nothing to do with what we were attempting to discuss...as Racers, Riders, Freinds & Enthusiasts...here. At the same time I TOO have some of these thoughts and "wonders"; because, I'm damn near the exact same age as Doug & I hit the ground like this a coupl'a years ago...

But...there's a Time & a Place for everything.

This is the Time for Positive thoughts & the Place to show some Support for an Honest to God "Contributor" to our sport & lifestyle.
Should a worn one of those new tangled rib protectors dammit. Wink

I escaped from Mexico (Baja 500) w/ nothing more than bruised ribs due to having all the good stuff on...from Leatt to TLD I was wearing plenty of "Armor".

Wednesday update: 
Doug had a very good day. He is making progress each day. He is still in the ICU until tomorrow and then a regular room until Monday.

Doug is doing really well & as of today he doesn't have any tubes or hoses attached to him anymore!

If he continues to improve he'll get to go home on Monday.

Doug is out of the hospital as of today. Should be heading back down to southern calif in a few days if all goes well. Long rehab ahead

Get well soon! I broke 4 ribs the same weekend you did, I'm 44 (it ain't easy at this age). I was in 3rd on the gas and washed the front end and face planted. I cant imagine any more broken, I cant wait till this is over and can imagine how hard it is for you! get well soon and I still loving your pipe on my Yami and looking forward to getting back out there all be it a little slower!

my most recent was 5 broken ribs, 3 in the chest and 2 on the lower back, same side, with a side order of 3 fractured vertabrae...
