Anyone know the hp specs on the mugen kit for the 90's compared to stock? I saw the rebuild a guy on TT did which was a full 1991 works bike with AF frame turned out sick.

Deek, beautiful build. Is it inappropriate to ask how much that bad boy cost?

You're killing me Deeks! That thing is amazing. You guys reeeeeaaaallllyy need to start making some of those trick bits for us old 74-78 CR125 fanatics. Please??

I rode the absolute most clapped out stock chassis'd XR100 with a 143 or 148 Takagawa kit on it and it was a damned lightning bolt. Had the reduced ratio clutch hub so it had to be push started. Fun stuff outrunning full on 150cc BBR builds to the first turn with a bald rear tire and no oil in the suspension. Of course the lack of brakes didn't work out too well....Smile

We fixed the brakes by lightening everything and adding liquid. Yeah the motors are sick but very fragile. You have to push start all the takagawa kitaco motors or you will break the end of the layshaft off. We removed the kick mechanism completely along with first gear and anything related to that. Saved 3lbs on that mod.

We do have a 74 and a 77 with plenty of carbon bits. We are too slammed at work to produce the parts for sale. These bike are all just stuff we work on after work.

One of these years we will send all our factory bikes out to diamond dons might be a little closer so you can see them in person. Most people don't believe we race these things often. We finished that on on Friday set the sag on Saturday got the holes hot and finished second at Burnworths SoCal vintage event with no testing.

The DR rode our other bike to a 1-1 in the proclass too.

Nice job on the project Deek.

It's good to see somebody give Newmann some competition.

That 100cc class was one fun class in its day. Mix in some 80s and sleeved down 125s with the 100s and you had a full gate.

Finally got it delivered the other day. Been sitting since probably 93. Filthy dirty, but loaded with potential!Lots of trick bits. Works forks, alloy tank, Mugen engine, alloy subframe, Acerbis plastics and Technosel graphics and seat cover. Going to clean everything up and ride it for a while.

I have Eric Kehoes On The Line CR125. I bought it from a friend of Newman’s at Rio Bravo a few years ago. I made it into a McGrath Peak Replica and have been looking at it for years and have only ridden it once. I came across some original On The Line graphics a few months ago and I decided I am going to race it in a few vintage races this year along with my 86 CR250 and then I’m going to restore it to its original form and sell it and get something else to race for next year. I also have one of Chad Reed’s 2011 Honda’s but I’m keeping that one.

Back when I was racing 125's in the 80's I obtained a set of 87' Honda Cr250 forks complete with Mugen cartridge internals for my 86' Cr125. To this day those were the plushest forks in severe chop I have owned including KYB sss.

Had an 87 CR250r I raced in the late 80's & those were some good forks reworked for their time. I felt it wasn't till the mid 2K's that the suspension starting catching up. I'd imagine with trick internals they would feel super plush in the chop even by today's standards .
