Not a lot changed from like 05 to 08'. Real close. Ergonomics were identical.

I had an 2006 CRF450R and then rode a 2009 back to back, I sold the 2006 and bought a 2009 and still have it. Both are great, I the 2009 feels real smooth, very light, and very narrow, all which I liked. I know that didn't answer your question.

The 08 was the best stock modern 450 thump. INMHO. Wish I had kept it.

08 runs a different ignition map for gears 1,2, and 3; steering dampener, about the only significant changes.

Yes, as far as interchangeability of parts from bike to bike. 2007 had a smaller carb 40mm vs 08 41mm internal bore, 08 trees are a lil more stable (longer bike) & 07 (shorter bike) turn quicker in theory, Idk lol. 08 has mount for OEM dampner in neck and bottom tree, 07 has less travle in the suspension, 08 is more aggressive front and rear suspen. 08 dry is ten+/- lbs more. Cdi on 08 runs dif mapping. The rest is B.S stuff. 2008 is a better bike imo.

I still own my 08 and I will keep it forever. I had the 04,05,06,07 & 08. Every year they handled better. Hoping to see a 2015 crf-350.

No they are not the same bike, not alot of changes but they are slightly different

Best 450 I've had is the 08. Its still around. I can't seem to get rid of it.

I had an '07. It was a really good bike. Great suspension (after revalve), motor was heaven. No problems with reliability or valves.

Here is a good writeup from MXA on the 2008 and you can see what changed. The biggest things were the steering damper and forks. I dont think the rest of the changes made a huge difference.
