James is pretty damned honest and hard on himself lately. When he sucked...he'll tell you he sucked, with no excuses. He said he was flat sucking at Muddy Creek, and that he would have beaten himself on a 2-stroke 125 back in the day. He said the track had him totally confused and not comfortable. He couldn't get into a groove.

I wonder if not getting surgery will haunt Stewart? I've never heard of an athlete not fixing their ACL before. I find myself rooting for Stewart more and more as the time goes on. I guess it’s his underdog status (weird to say that).
Good for James man. I don't care that he isn't winning right now.....the dude is showing patience and is finishing motos. I just want to see him finish the season strong and come into SX fit and ready.
RV basically did the same thing when he was young. He hurt the knee further in 2009 and had to pull out after Hangtown to get it fixed.
Chase setup all day you feel?
I don’t know if I chased setup. I think it was 25 percent setup, 75 percent me. It was just from the first practice there was something about this track that I was completely lost. I couldn’t get in my corners. I just really couldn’t do anything. It was frustrating for sure. It was frustrating coming back and telling the team that. ‘I’m like, dude, I just didn’t have it. Seriously.’
His point about getting into corners is something that I even noticed in SX and I also noticed on Saturday. 17th in practice and passed and beaten bad by Mike Alessi in the second moto...............something ain't right. Maybe it's the bike, maybe it's the knee, maybe it's his desire, or maybe hit's his fitness level??? Whatever it is something ain't right. The disappointing part is that I heard more people making supporting comments about him before the race than any other rider. Even though the racing was good I'm sure that every James Stewart fan was more than a little disappointed on the drive home. I would say more, but I'll leave it at that.

So far Stewart has not seen the need to get it fixed so I guess he feels he can cope with it.

Take a look at the gear and the bike. A jofa? Drum brakes? Got to be early 80's at the latest, and the scrub was well advanced already. I even had a video of Broc Glover back in the day where he explained the scrub. You Bubba nut swingers are hilarious.
Some subjects may seem petty or trivial, but I cannot seem to let this one go. I even tried Lunesta to keep from thinking about this, but the drug's high price is keeping me up at night. Here it is: James Stewart did invent the scrub… Jo Jo Keller did not. What Jo Jo is doing is a cross up. I did many of these in the late ‘70's. Why is it a cross up? His wheel is pointing up, not down. I would bet anything a left turn was right after that jump in that famous picture of him. When you scrub you point the wheel down to keep the inertia going downward. The Jo Jo picture is not the first scrub caught on film, it is just a very cool cross up. I respect your opinion very much. If you disagree with me I will let this go…maybe.

You know, I didn’t give it much thought when they said that JoJo’s jump was the first scrub, but you are exactly right; he is just doing a cool cross up. The intention of a “scrub” is to keep your trajectory moving forward rather than up and you do that by turning the wheel down as you leave the ground, not up. Well, I’m glad we got that all cleared up and you can go ahead and get some rest tonight, Joe. While most of America has been losing sleep over their jobs, mortgages, debt, economy or national disasters, you are getting hooked on pills because a few old-school motocross guys remember one of their local heroes in a candy coated haze and gave him credit for a move clearly perfected by James Stewart. Have I nailed the pertinent facts as you see them? Dude…get some sleep.
