Maybe new management? Same people = same results.

I like Brayton but he has been struggling with injuries and just some of the worst luck ever. Grant, bye. his time is over and the team needs to somehow get Cooper Webb or that program under their umbrella.

After seeing Webb ride in person for the first time yesterday I agree that JGR could benefit from his services. That kid is an animal, he really impressed me.

Josh Summey got better results than they are getting now. It seems in the short term (hopefully) that the team has gone backwards. With the good resources they have, I'm sure they will get riders who can get up front, and they'll have some success again.
I certainly hope so anyway.

I hope they can turn it around soon, I doubt the head guys at JGR are ok with throwing that kind of money away to show up to the races and have horrible results. I think they could benefit by also having a 250 effort with kids like Webb and Martin under their tent and one 450 rider.

Cooper Webb would be a great investment for that team! Only makes sense since they already supported him, he lives in NC and certainly will be winning races in the future! They should lock that kid down like PC did with AC. It wouldn't surprise me if he starts winning motos by the halfway point of the season.

Agree on this. Cant take Web straight to the 450 class. Needs a couple years in the 250 class to keep building on his skills.
Maybe the new Yamaha will help next year. Could they be tryng too much to improve the bike and that is what is causing issues. Might be just a little bad luck. Hope they get back on track.

As far as Grant goes, I think he is still suffering the fate of "The Universe". I don't buy into hocus pocus, but ever since Tony put the hex on Josh there is no mistaking that a black cloud is following him. He really needs to go mend fences with the Alessi clan and see if Tony will undo what he done did, because the kid just cannot catch a break. Has Josh even raced 10 times since that day 4 years ago?

lol good one , and either Ryan will do , imo they will be fine , just some bad luck and bad choices in riders , sorry to say , both very talented , heck any one that can earn 1 point at a national is talented in my book , but not at the top of there game lately , and james just couldnt get comfortible on the yammi , and now he had so many bad crashes on it he may never be the same !!

JGR should get out of the 450s and have a 250 team. They can then get the up and coming riders like Cooper web and not waste their time on wash outs like Grant and Brayton.

Actually, focusing on a 250 develoment program while retaining their position as Yamaha's Lead Team is where the smart money is at.

J-Bone has known this for a while.

They should be a 250 team not a 450 team. I think they would be up front more often.

They were paying Stew to win Championships, he knew he couldn't deliver and saved them millions of dollars while being the only guy to give them multiple wins. Before he signed with them they had a deal if both sides were not happy they would tear up the contract, pretty sure both sides were not happy.

Didn't understand yami supporting a few low end/start up teams with no infrastructure when they could have put more into star and JGR. Gotta give credit where it's due though; star looks good outside.

Either way Grant and Brayton are never going to be a threat to win a race much less a championship.

What makes you say that? Because JGR is struggling? Not their fault.

It's not the team. When is the last time grant had a good memorable ride? I used to be a huge fan of his but he's had good ride after good ride team wise with no results to show for it.

It probably won't happen after several years have passed, but IMO Yamaha has GOT to bring back the in-house factory team. I know that's not how Nascar does it, etc. but this isn't Nascar.
Not having a factory team has put Yamaha in the hole on bike development and refinement, which has brought them to having the worst bikes in both classes. The best riders, the ones who will win races and championships, want to ride the best bikes. Right now the best bikes aren't sporting blue plastic, and they haven't been for a few years now.
Not saying the YZF's are crap, not at all, but not having the in house factory team has let the bikes lag behind in development from the other OEMs. At the very least they need a strong factory 250 effort to breed talent (like PC or Geico). I think that's what they're trying to do with Star Racing but the results haven't been there (and neither has a long term title sponsor, if you'll notice.)
To add insult to injury, having two other support teams (whichever one Kiniry was on and also Valli) fold, and Eleven-Ten probably not long for this world just makes them look even more like the 5th wheel.

What does Mechanicals have to do with the riders? That's on the team if the bikes mess up.

2009 grant was amazing at A1, Milleville, Redbud and a few other places. In 2010 I remember him catching, passing, pulling Dungey at Lakewood. He gets good ride after good ride because if he can get shit to click he's dangerous.

They need new riders. Brayton is an anchor, and Grant has a black cloud that follows him.
