Goes to show how dedicated Reed is to racing. Rain or shine sick or not the guy is there on saturday. Props to the 22.

People need to STFU about the whole "retiring" talk. And being the "oldest" guy out there. Didn't Dowd prove that that shit wasn't a valid argument? They're riding dirt bikes for gods sake. The guy is 30 years old. It's not like they're running up and down a court trying to keep out with the rookies. Even if they were look at Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Kevin Garnette, Steve Nash for an example.

I get a knee jerk every time its brought up. I know its gotta get old for athletes to hear. Dowdy was so passive I don't think it bothered him too much, but it seemed like EVERY single supercross race for the past 3 years of K-dubs career it was brought up. Just stop it.

you can say what you like but do you want to take bets that if he doesn't start getting any better results he retires

Listen to the pre-race podcast on Pulpmx. Chad Reed is incredibly sick and wouldn't be racing if his entire team and sponsors weren't 100% dependent on him.

It's a long season. I think I'll just wait and see what happens.

That goes for RV too. He's dominant right now, but ......... long season.

Give him some time. He'll slowly creep back up into top 5 finishes before year end imo. I bet he's really looking forward to '14 and a new bike though...

Do you really think he's that far off the pace?

Or, is it something-else?

Oh, I know...I wonder if he's still sick?

Chad will do what he wants. I like him, and respect him. It's hard to keep up with the younger guys. Your body isn't what it once was, sad to say at 30, but that's nature. But life goes on if you race bikes , or do something else. The big thing is when you have the kids. Nothing changes you more than that. There is a lot more to think about. The younger guys are taken care of, the older ones are taking care of themselves, and their families. Chad will go down in history as one of the best. I admire him for what he's doing. Leave him alone and let him do what he does. He's a great racer, and we all will miss him if he isn't there.

You could tell he didn't feel like himself. When he would go by he was just not charging. Didn't look like he was favoring a knee or anything but you could just tell it wasn't the real Chad Reed. Give the guy some time when was the last time anybody hear sacked up and went 30+2 twice while sick?

I wouldn't care if Reedy went 40 / 40 in a moto - he's still my favorite rider! Cool

Like a few other guys said above, give him time to get over the flu, and you'll see him in the Top 5, no question.

Hangtown 2011 isn't THAT long ago, you know. Anyone remeber that?? Wink

Its his knee i reckon. When the V8 supercars where in the US 2 weeks ago they showed him in one of the pits with his knee bandaged up and abit of a limp. i believe he should have hired Metty to ride the 450 and had the motocross off and got healthy again.

This sounds like a smart idea.

Tough to see him get results like that and ride not at his potential for either bike or body reasons. I would rather him not race unless he has it all together.

2 races in and I know he is sick.He has babies and maybe that has something or not to do with it.I'm a dad of 3 so ya sickness is mostly airborne and some hard to shake,
I've been a fan of Speedy since he dropped anchor here in the states.
Hopefully by rd.6 we will see Chad.

I think it shows what type of person he is behind the goggles, to be turning up and living up to his side of the deal whilst sick is very impressive. Going to miss this guy on 2 wheels whenever he decides to depart.

The guy has more to loose than any other guy out there. He has a family and a whole buissness that all falls on his back not some other person and he shows up to ride the bike each day. Sick, hurt or dying hes gonna ride and if you dont respect a person like that then go follow volleyball or something. The guy has given everything to this sport!!! Now does that mean that I think he should have rode outdoors NO. I have said from the middle of supercross that he needed to pick up Mety for outdoors and let him ride and set this one out so he could be 100% for supercross. And for the yama talk he has stated on multiple interviews that the new yama doesnt fit his riding style at all anymore. So I dont see him switching to anyone but a Kawi or Suzi and I just dont see him doing it. I think he will stick with Honda. They dont have that many riders anymore its all Suzi or Kawi in the 450s and they wont someone to be on the podium and you cant count on BAMBAM to do that. So quit talking about all this retirment junk the guy isnt going anywhere he will be back on top!!!
