Top ten, podium will be tough. Sure would be exciting if he does well.

I say 1-1. I saw a 10 or 11 year old AC all over a 15 year old Tomac a few years ago at Ponca
and it made me realize this kid has something special. Not too many people have made my jaw
drop before when I watch them ride and this kid did. He crashed in the first turn of one race I watched
and he was overjumping the landing to a double by about 50 feet! He was litterally jumping over
people's heads making passes. His desire to win reminds me of RC. It will definitely be interesting.

I'll take the bet. I'm a big fan of both, but I think at this point Cooper is more battle tested.

I read that he was gonna go do some testing w Mitch and the team was to check his times compared to the current Champ if he is close then hes racing if not they were to wait a season. Now if you guys say he's racing then I'd be betting he's got damn near the Champs speed but like when that kid Tomac made his pro debut...he could run out of steam when Man strength needs to kick in at the 20 min mark...Does that info change anyones prediction?...predict on people!
Na,it doesn't really change my opinion. I think that he probably has the skill, and the speed, but first if he gets a bad start I don't think that he will walk down guys like Roczen and Tomac. I think that those two will come out of the gate swinging.

You never now though. AC or CW might surprise everyone.

This happens every year a new kid enters the ranks.

He will get a great start and run up front and everyone will act shocked.

So you are saying a good start is important?

Isn't that the case for everyone not named Bagget?

Apparently you don't read post on other pages. I said that in another reply.

Either way, I think that Roczen and Tomac can make up for bad starts. Not like Baggett, but they can get to the front. Those three are on another level ourdoors, or at least they were last year.

I think that this year the class is so full of incredible riders that no matter who you are you are not going to come from dead last and smoke everybody. I also think that we are going to see about 10 to 15 riders that are all the same speed.
The start is always one of the most important keys to a reace but this year it will be more than ever. Thats why I have been happy to see Cooper Webb getting holeshots against 450s this past year.Smile

This doesn't apply to Blake BaggettLaughing

Is it just me, or does Webb's bike sound way gnarlier than Cunningham's or Martin's. Thing sounds crisp and rowdy.

A while back someone posted about AC having a great battle with one of the Medaglia brothers down in Florida and getting beat, if that's the case he's likely running pace to be in the 10th-20th finishing order is my guess.

Haven't read the whole thread, but I got $20 that says he will be top 5 barring injury or mechanical

He needs conditioning of a full season of the brutal outdoor schedule under his belt before his battling for a podium.

I watched Covington chase down mcelrath twice this weekend. He went down the first time after reeling him in and passed him after coming from 5th the second. didn't see the other 2 motos.

His speed looks great, conditioning is still a mystery. I say he goes something like 3-7. Tired from first moto and cannot recover as well for second. Great starts in both races too.

People are worried about his fitness? He has Aldon as a trainer. Have we learned nothing?

This change your mind?

Doesn't tell me much at all really, you could put 50-100 fast guys out on the scene right now onto that track and there and they'd all look awesome

Unless the variation of places to practice is fairly limited I'm suprised they ride so much at these places, pretty awful track, not at all rough, bumpy or deeply rutted, all one lined and unchallenging for guys of that standard,I'm sure Hangtown isn't going to be like that at all

What's your prediction anyhow?

5-10 for me with a bit of luck maybe

I think he'll be top 5 because as small as he is, there is no way he doesn't holeshot both motos....

I absolutely believe that riding with RV that much he'll be fast enough to be up there straight away, consistently and for the season is maybe another thing... I'm not calling win, but top 5, maybe even a podium with some luck. First round is always weird.

I like mcelrath but cooper has kicked his ass at about every amateur national this year even with Shane on a 450 and Webb on a 250. Is Shane for sure even racing hangtown?

Gonna be hard to finish behind a guy who will be practicing for Loretta's.

Baggett looks reeeeeedy.

I said it last year and I'll say it again, KTM should pick him up for next year and put him on the 350. That's just MHO.
