Guess you missed the point of RV doing it with the most stacked field in history and doing it a race early. :p

This is not the most stacked field ever! You must be new to the sport?

Turns out he's NOT clueless. I will agree that this season was hyped up to be to most stacked ever with all the past champions and all.......but when you look back at the 15 races run so far......nope, it was not the most stacked field ever. For that you would have to look back to the early and mid 80's when there were 5 or six guys that could win on any given night. There's a BIG difference between having 5 or 6 past winners on the line compared to having 5 or 6 racers that can win. You want to talk stacked? Barnett, Lechien, RJ, Bailey, Ward, Johnny O, Glover, Hannah! A good indicator to a stacked class would be to look back and see how many different winners there were. This season was not the most stacked field in history; but it sure was looking that way going into it!

Eighties-shmeighties. I thought we were talking '02 and '09 here.

And there were 5 winners last year, and 5 in 2011. Did the other guys to 3-peat have that kind of competition?

Jus wondrin.

Congrats to the champ. I accidentally turned it to Speed as he was holding up the trophy, so it kind of spoiled the racing. I was like goddamn it.

While I understand how special the 80's were (I lived through it and witnessed a lot of that era), this year did have the most premier class winners EVER on the line. Villopoto, Stewart, Reed, Dungey, Windham, Grant, Hill, Millsaps, Short, Canard and Barcia. That's eleven premier class winners in the 2013 450SX Points standing, with seven (8 if you count RV's 2013 Championship) premier class championships under their belts. Also, 3 of the top 5 winningest 450SX riders of all time were on the line in '13. Like I said, it's hard for me to say any modern year is deeper than the glory days in the 80's, but I challenge you to find a year that matches those stats. Good luck.

I know the names Barnett, Lechien, RJ, Bailey, Ward, Johnny O, Glover and Hannah carry a lot of weight, but I think the list I just mentioned will be thought of in the same way 30 years from now.
