After a first turn crash RC charges to second 450 & third overall in the first moto of MXON 2007. Although he was far from race shape he rode the last two laps of that moto on the ragged edge with Reed in his cross hairs.

I have a question, for the photographers on the site with a large amount of photos. How do you keep them all sorted on your computer that you can pick them out that easily? Do you use any sort of software to maintain the files?

Haha I'm just outside of that picture a little further down the hill. That was an awesome day

Hemi426, I have the barest fraction of volume that guys like GuyB, Kardy, Simon et all have, but you can rename files or enter keywords into the metadata identifying a rider/race that allow a quick search that pulls those files up.

Also, truly epic pics tend to stick in your mind and end up cubby-holed some place special.

I have my stuff organized by year and by race, and then the raw file backups are duped on two external hard drives. If I had done those files to the "T" back then, I would have key-worded the rider id into them at the time I was importing them off the cards. But it's not that much of an ordeal to go back through the volume of images I have. The guys who are there week in and week out have produce an incredible number of files.

I think probably the majority of folks use Lightroom or Photoshop/bridge (both Adobe), some may be using Aperture (Apple). Some may still be using Capture One. There also are independent file management systems not tied to the image editing programs by Adobe and Apple.

That's my take

There is another photo from behind, of RC going through a very rutted left corner pulling a tear-off during an outdoor MX. Does anybody remember or have that photo? I think it tops the others.

Right before this photo the greatest noise known to man would have sounded...

I haven't seen this picture in awhile. It was at Millville in I think 2004. Carmichael was just airing it out on this massive jump and threw his bike completely sideways. If I remember correctly, they told him he can't jump it anymore because he was technically cutting the track in mid air. Kind of like how they put the poles up at corners in SX nowadays.

If anyone could post that, it would be awesome. I'm sure it's on this site somewhere if I keep digging.

Yup, I do the same with footage. Name, place, type of action occurring. Langston, Freestone, table scrub for example.

I was surprised how fast the one response was up for the photo. It makes sense and I can just imagine how labor intensive it can be to tag each photo and catalog it, whether by computer or I am guessing in the old days, file bins.

All I have is family photos and I have a hard time keeping them in order. And I am talking maybe 1000 pictures, not 10000 or so like I am guessing some of you have. Thanks for the response.

Like FTE said, I have all my photos (and trust me, there's a lot) organized by year and event. I use Lightroom3 and have tagged every picture by name, year, event, class, bike brand and sometimes a few more tags, like face shot, helmet, gear, podium etc etc.
If you want me to dig up a photo of RV on the podium holding up a trophy or being interviewed by DC at the MXdN, Budds Creek, 2007 it would take me about 10 seconds to find it just by using the tags needed.

This shot is my wallpaper at work, and IMO simply perfect in composition and execution. Much respect to Simon.

For quite a while I had an Alessi shot of yours as my desktop background.

This image of RV is the desktop background on both of my computers now. Im not sure who shot it, but I think its such an awesome photograph and I can't bring myself to change it.

This was massive! It was then and there that the world knew that RV was a better big bike rider than the famous mini-cycle legend Mike Alessi. I only watched on TV and I was shitting bricks.
Miss that track! This jump was just as gnarly as Larocco's Leap. Insane!
