Midwest MX racing/riding

In the near future, I'll be moving from SoCal (land of 7 day a week riding) to the greater St. Louis area. Are there any local websites/message boards that I could go to to find out about places to ride and race?

No one told you? Moto is dead in our area!!! Joking
District18.info, USED to be the local site everyone went,
not so much anymore, but can find out about some riding.
then the official D-18 website, is District18.net. thats is for
the local series. If you need info, i will message you my number
and you can call for better info on what and where.
Moto isnt what it used to be in our area, but there is still some riding options.

Dennis is right. Archview is the best track that side of the state for sure. Its across the river from St. Louis into Illinois and is best compared to tracks in Texas with the layout and the dirt. Also, for most of the racing around the state the best website is www.mostatemx.com and their forum is under the "Pit Talk" tab.

Not sure about D-18 but central Illinois is D-17 and they are still pretty active and have good tracks at Taylorville and Casey just to name a couple. They aren't all that far away sort of like gong to Adelanto from the OC or even Barona Oakes.

Thanks for the info, guys. Looking forward to checking out some new tracks! Looks like I'll end up settling in the Edwardsville area, but not sure yet.

Alot of good tracks in northern IL. Sunset Ridge (walnut ), Ki tracks (Oregon ), Coal Valley (Moline), Motosports Park (Byron ), MT. Carol. And some good stadium tracks too. Check the AMA district 17 site.

There is LTM (casey), Crossroads, Salem, Duquoin, Taylorville, Archview, and maybe a few more within a couple hours. I've heard Sweeney's track is pretty sweet, I believe its somewhere north of STL in Missouri. Then you have northern IL, lots of good tracks. IMO, Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL is the best in Illinois. Probably 3-3.5 hours north of Edwardsville

But if you're a quad rider, you're SOL. No quads at archview or on LTM's new Bomber track built by Mark Barnett. Ditch the couch!

The District 18 website is http://www.district18racing.net/

It provides information for both D-18 tracks and most D-17 tracks. As I am the District 18 Competition Director I will be more than happy to help with any questions you may have. My information is ed@district18racing.net

Is the track at Mason still open? My parent live about five miles from there.

That would be Crossroads, not too far from Effingham, but in the middle of BFE. Yup, still open. Cool track but it dries out FAST! Goes from sloppy in practice, gets super rutted and rough, is perfect for a few motos, then gets baked.

Yes Archview is probably the best one around there. As a bonus it's also within walking distance of a lot of strip clubs! I haven't been there in a couple of years but I've heard it's still top notch.
