I don't care how flat that track is, it looks fucking awesome. I would not want to have to memorize that track, looks really long.

Looks cool to me! Should be some good racing

not to be "that guy" but nothing can really top a good natural terrain track.

And by that I mean natural elevation with cool jumps haha. Like Red Bud or Millville or Unadilla. I love 'Shougal, but it's getting a little dated...

Looks hard to pass, good thing the Miller Motocross green arrow didn't get stuck behind that Monster Supercross green arrow

Its too long, but looks insanely fun.

Still don't think they should put a national on a parking lot

Evolve and adapt or die. Spectators and riders want big jumps, so they make the track with big jumps. There are some really tough looking obstacles on that track too. Nobody goes to an MX National to watch a Hare and Scramble or Cross Country event.

It doesn't matter how flat the damn track is, why can't you oldtimers get over that?

Tooele might not be the best place for a track with that many big jumps. When the wind blows there, it BLOWS. Most days it starts just after noon and doesn't let up until the sun goes down. The track is too 'supercrossy' to begin with; throw in the wind and this place is going to be the most hated track of the series.

That being said, if the moto gods bless this race and the wind holds off, it could be a cool deal. The Miller Motorsports complex is a great place, and has plenty of accommodations to support a national-sized event.

I think it would be a fantabulous addition to the SX circuit...but MX it ain't. I don't want to hear ANYONE complain about Texas and then say this thing is OK. A track it is...but a REAL moto track...NEVER. Even if the track was acceptable...where are the trees I'm supposed to piss behind? Some of the midwest (Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri) tracks of the '70's were horrible but even they were better than this make believe. I'm not trying to rain on any one's parade but the truth is the truth. Some of us still know the difference between SX and MX and still believe (no matter how much money SX brings in) that MX is the HEART and CORE of the sport. In the words of Huey Lewis..."sometimes bad is bad".

Really, what difference does having hills make? Other than off-chamber turns and long uphills, is it really that big of a deal?

I bet this track will be one the favorites among the riders and will produce great racing.

I loved going to Miller with a racing car team. Best garages and nicest facility (well maybe 2nd now to Austin COTA) in America, I reckon.

But this looks like the Daytona SX track on steroids to me more than it does an outdoor track..

I'm an old dude so maybe things have passed me by...but I thought the definition of motocross was "off-road motorcycles racing on NATURAL terrain courses". I watched the video and even though it was "virtual" I don't think very much of the course was "natural"...maybe the pits/parking lots. Like I said...I'm an old geezer so maybe things have changed and I just need to STFU...but before I do I have a parting comment..."kiss my ass if this is a MOTOCROSS TRACK. P.S. can't wait to see the attendance numbers.

Maybe back in the 60s and mid 70s but then bikes changed and so have tracks. Things change and not always for the better. We use to have creek crossing on tracks but when was the last time you saw one on a national track? and the only time you see mud is when it rains , what ever happened to the good old mud hole on a track.

I respect that opinion, my dad is an oldschool guy, he grew up racing the SoCal scene in the late 60s and early 70s.

But today things are just different. I would say tracks haven't been mostly "natural" in almost 20 or more years.

its not you, the guys that dont care that a track is flat simply havent ridden a track with many large elevation changes. no flat track like this can hold a candle to a more "traditional" moto track.

I agree. Most tracks haven't been natural terrain for years. If you ever went to Unadilla or Red Bud in the old days, they don't look anything like they used to and they're still on the National calendar and draw big crowds, even though they are hours from any big cities. I'll expand on this later, if I can.

Remember when MX was rough as fuck, hairpins and hills...

Thesedays everything is sweepers, big open corners...

I'll be honest...the opinions expressed here about how "out of touch" us old timers are... is in my opinion exactly why old moto guys are switching over to harescrambles. Not because we can't do "moto"...but because we can't do "SX". I can still whip most kids half (hell, a third) my age at a 2 or 3 hour HS over a natural terrain course. I don't say there's no place for "do or die" doubles and triples and 4 foot whoops but I just thought that place was SUPERCROSS...not moto. I see a good and profitable place for real natural terrain moto tracks in the foreseeable future.

lol. In my 20s I did all the big jumps and doubles in my 30s I thought about them a lot before I did the big jumps and doubles in my 40s I said I did all the big jumps and doubles and now in my 50s I watch all the young guys do the big jumps and doubles. Blush
in my teens we didnt have big jumps or doubles.

The people may be made to follow a path of action, but they may not be made to understand it.

I concur. There is nothing like a true motocross track. My favorite is Honey Lake. Last time I raced there it only had 4 jumps in the track. The challenge was the huge uphill, steep downhill , challenging off campers and of coarse how rough the track got

I think the track looks pretty good, but then again I live in a part of the country where its flat, so i guess I don't race "real" motocross.

Those sand whoop sections look pretty gnar. I just hope the track isn't ridiculously high speed.

Are you suggesting Davey is slowly trying to kill the sport? Because Guiseppe doesn't select tracks for the Nationals! Whistling

Biggest thing is that a track built on flat ground sucks for spectators. Common sense says if it's built on a hill you can see a much larger portion of the track.

Common sense also says Motocross is all about racing a motorcycle over challenging, natural terrain. Jumps should really be a secondary consideration.
