Stewart clutch theory

I think it could be that maybe Bubba was trying some new experimental clutch part in order to help his starts. And having big James standing at the line, he could have been checking on this setup. Maybe Suzuki didnt want to try it, but the Stewarts insisted. what if it was a Rekluse that got out of adjustment or somethin

Ever since I read about this happening, I've been doing a little research of my own to find out why it happened, and I think I've figured it out. I tried to be as in depth as possible without making anyone feel stupid by talking over their heads. I hope it worked.

Is it that hard to grasp the fact that the clutch broke? It's nothing new and not a one time thing. What if it was some 3 digit privateer? Would it be that big of a deal. It happened, sucked, bring on Atlanta!

I think Sully pretty much nailed it here. Motosmith.....good thinking though.....but I guess we will never officially hear anything like that from that camp. Desperate times require desperate measures......maybe something back fired?

Sully is correct, stuff breaks. When you take stuff apart as much as they do, you are bound to have a failure at some point. It's amazing how many times you see a pro's bike break, granted they ride them a lot harder, but with the up keep they do, they do break a lot. I've seen a lot of seats and mufflers fall off at nationals....

For some reason, James is a magnet for an army of internet trolls. They look for any and all opportunities to undermine his character and riding abilities. When I first started to notice it happening, I figured that James was in a "no win" situation.

Back then (circa 2008 or so), James rode all out (over his head) from the first timed practice to where he either won, or crashed out. I figured that was his best bet, as his determination could never be questioned. Then the haters "evolved" (I used that term loosely) into a group who questioned his wrecklessness on the track. Again, a "no-win" situation for James.

It is time to ignore those trolls.

James is a good kid, and his riding style changed what it took to be up front. He cannot please some people, and I hope that he realizes that. He should ride for himself, his team, and his supporters.

I'm saying that the reason James gave for having Big James, instead of his mechanic, on the start seemed bogus. James said that Big James was there to make him feel more at home so he could get a better start.

If I'm his mechanic, I'm thinking, "WTF?!", and, "maybe Big James can prep his bike for the Main too".

It's simple really, everyone knows Suzuki is having $$ problems so when a old clutch cable fails and they are out of stock (can't afford to buy 1) what else can they do or say?

If there was an issue between James and his mechanic, they sure fixed it in a hurry. James and his Team were solid in ATL. You are right, "professionals". Nice work Team Yoshimura Suzuki.
