Tomac
I'm glad I drove down there to see that race . Everything he did on that bike was to push it forward . He will be a 450 contender if they do in fact put him on that bike this summer .

Didn't MA800 race the big bike class and take 3rd overall his first race ? That is really good if it was.

In '91 wasn't Swink number 42? That means he made his debut previous to that.

Bradshaw's accomishment is up there, but IMO an offseason sx race isn't in the same league as a two moto overall performance to win the opening round of a championship series. But it's arguable for sure.

I don't think Tortelli's '99 season or Chad's '02 season can be considered their "pro debut".

I'd have to say Tomac. The kid absolutely laid wood at Hangtown.

No, his pro debut was terrible. He backed it up at his 2nd or 3rd race by getting 3rd in the 2nd moto and possibly 3rd overall. Hard to remember without checking facts!

How was Robbie Reynard's first National? Windham's 1st was nothing to shout about and Carmichael did so so.

Who had the best Pro debut?
Didn't KW just about win High Point first try out till Doug Henry got him with a lap to go?

Sheesh....

Bradshaw was good wasn't it?

Not yet mentioned, so here goes, Dungey won his first pro 250SX race at Atlanta 2007. Followed that up with a 2nd his first 450SX race 3 sec. behind JS. Not an SX guy, as some think, but not to damn bad.

Tomac's debut was very impressive, he beat a lot of the big name guys like Pourcel, Barcia, Wilson, Rattray, and Canard

Dogger

"The 16 year-old Californian on the #224 black-and-yellow Yamaha YZ250 had won his first professional AMA event. Shockingly, it came in a 250cc supercross—Lechien would win his first 125 National eight days later at Lake Whitney, Texas."

a very good choice if you ask me, not to mention arguably the fastest rider of all time

Remember when James showed up and just killed the light's class? To make it less boring he had the goal of wining every moto by 1 minute! Made it most of the time.

I agree with this choice....

Yes Bradshaw won in Japan at 16, but that was not an AMA points SX.

The Dogger won an AMA big boy SX race as a true 16 year old rookie, back when the class was stacked with full factory talent.

Tomac was pretty surprising as well, but not a rookie debut in the big boy class.

Although certainly not the best Pro debut, Pastrana's East Coast Supercross debut was by far my favorite. Showing up with a cast on his hand, wrecking on the parade lap, pin-balling through the main.... All with that goofy grin on his face. Fan for life!

I could be wrong but I think Bradshaw won the Toronto Supercross when he was only 15. Beat out Larocco and Pederson. Not too shabby for a pro debut

Hands down James Stewart had the best Pro Debut. Won the opening round and went on to dominate the rest of the season to win the championship.
