Anyone recall a bike named Dalesman enduro? It had a 125 Sachs engine and was my first bike. Belive it was 72-76 years model. It had a tank-seat and rear fender in one piece. Removable and built in glasfibre and colour was orange. Any picture would be fantastic from this odd bike.

dont forget the husky with the automatic transmission.

1978 harley 250 mx, yamaha tt 500, italajet and indian minicycles

goki air caps, when all the oil came out of one fork into the other, it would just about snatch the bars out of your hands landing on a big jump

goodyear 2 ply front tires, yes, it would eventually pinch and cause you a dnf

remember the tall 4 wheel drive trucks of the late 70's? my riding buddy had one, only way to get a bike in the back was to ride it up, try that with a 250 already in it.

i remember in the old days, if you wanted to sign up for multiple classes, you did it before sign up closed and that was it. none of this "sign up and unsign" 15 times. and if your number didnt match your name, they just didnt worry about it, it was your bad and if you didnt get scored right, it was on you, tough noogies.

and they an actual trophy presentation after the races, over the pa system with a trophy girl.

rubber band start, forward gate start, backward falling gate start, man with 2 flag start.

If you hung on to one of your old bikes from the day. Bought this new in 76 for $695, recently just back in one piece...

That was my first new bike. I remember buying it from Bruce at Cycle City in Broomall, PA. They delivered it in Feb. My first ride with it was in the snow. I thought I paid $995. Open face helmet, Scott face mask, red Yamaha jersey and Hy-Point boots and leather gloves.....the good old days. I still have my jersey and gloves. Thanks for posting the pic!

Bought mine at the end of 76. Nobody wanted these bikes, there were two or three left on the floor with about 6-8 X model 125 YZ's sitting next to them. Already bought an X and when the price dropped on the MX125C to $749, made an offer ,and they took it. Made a great second bike for family ,friends to ride instead of sitting there watching.

Still have the bill of sale and the manual as well.

Did someone mention Goki air caps ?

1st time on a dirt bike: Tom Webb threw me on the front of his yellow coffin tanked 501 & wheelies is all I remember...

Leaned to ride on a GT60 & MR50

1st race was on a '79 YZ125

1st win was on a '80 CR125 (thanks to a guy called "Magoo"!)

1st Championship was on a '81 YZ125 In..."California" while qualifying against the SoCal gang at "Saddleback"...go figure!

We'd race Saddleback & Carlsbad...go back home to Marysville for some REAL sand...& have a blast. Hell, even raced both tracks at the Dunes...

I remember Red FMF down pipes and Grey XR75s...Monarchs & Carabellas...

Pretty sure I'm "ol'school"... Well...old enuff...
And the Honda trail 50 we used to run the neighborhood on. First memory was you teaching me to ride, holding the shifter down while revving the motor and looping out. Good stuff.

That is so cool. I have to look for mine. Mine is from Polka Dots MC MX in Midland Michigan. I am pretty sure it was from 1977.
Thanks. I haven't herd anything about Russ in years???

A Hodaka that you took the lights off, went to the starting line, shifted up to get out of first into neutral,
put your left hand on your helmet and took off when they dropped the flag......and it was an AMA event.

How about owning "The Technique of Motocross" by Ake Jonsson?

Attending a Rolf Tibblin school? On a YZ100C?

Had to fix flats with two flat screwdrivers and ended up with 5 patches on a new tube.

I'm cool with that, never fixed or worked on my bikes since I was only 11 years old back then. I had a VHS video tape of Gary Bailey's motocross technique. Also Brad Lackey's book on Motocross.

remember being able to race Weds. Th. Fr. nights then Sat. and Sun. day race. All with in a hour of your house.

Raced a CZ because Decoster rode one

Raced a Monark because Marty Smith rode one
