B this year, the years I have bought a new bike, C. New 450's aren't affordable.......that's why I have a two-stroke now....

Last year F. Bought 2 Suzuki 450s, went racing every weekend with parts, suspension, motors, new trailer, etc

Curious for you guys running C or higher, is it because of new bike purchases? If so are you buying outright or financing? I financing does that count for $$ spent in one year even though its most likely spread out over several?

Not including medical costs.
That includes the purchase of two used 2 strokes (hoping to drop down to B )

When i was doing trackdays with the roadbike i was in the C dept.
Now it is around the B dept. with 2 bikes, 2stroke mxer and an all-road V-Twin.

Everybody answering B here means one thing to me... None of you are buying new bikes. In the 80's and 90's anybody who was anybody above beginner and sometimes even beginners got a new bike every year. Times are definitely changing.

I usually fall into B, C on new bike years (paying cash)..only had one of those within the past three years though. This is not including medical costs. I really don't want to know what it'd be after that!

Good luck with your project! Like someone else said, you could also poll riders at the local races when they're signing up.

This past year I would say I fell into B, but now that my bike is done and built up I will be in the A category.

Right on the edge though.

D, but if I add it up for real for last year, which I haven't, it may be E. Too bad you didn't ask later this month after my accountant can tell me how much with gas, entries, and 3 new bikes purchased how much I spent. I did not finance one of them, but did sell a couple of minis and traded one 450 for another new 450. I did not deduct that in my head.

All three bikes where big bike purchases.

The last two years I've been at an A, but before that when Dad was bringing me to international races I'd say we were well into C, if not even into D. Kinda scary. Also, there was a purchase of a new rig a few years ago, so that year would have definitely been an E or F.

I buya new bike every 3/4 years, in those years that I don't buy a new bike, it would come under B. I spend more on licences and entry fees than I do on my bike.

Only a casual racer in winter, and I don't ride in summer at all.

My brother only raced the regionals,area and LL's national last year and we were at the high end of C. That included a new 2011 KTM 250f.

Bike 4g, graphics gear helmet 1g, Fuel 500 bucks, Engine suspension rebuild 2g, oil lubes etc 500, Gas in vehicle 1g easy, Diesel for tractor (track maintenance) 250, Parts replaced/damaged 1000, Food for at track 400. Entry fees (didn't even race just practices) 500 (Includes redbud pro nat, baja brawl attendance) Hell I spent 800 going to Redbud. I still wanna puke thinking about the Redbud trip. Grand total = $11,950

For us we have been on average of D. Between new bikes, practice bike, enclosed trailer, race weekends (23 last year), gear, practice days it has really added up. Memories are priceless.

I think you would get more higher numbers if this were anonymous! Although many use MX to show how much money they have, most of us don't... But for me the numbers still add up to something I would rather not share publicly!
