Doubt it. If Reed is struggling to get good Factory support from Honda, there's no way Suzuki will do any better.

My guess has been that team 22 won't be here at all regardless of what Reed says. Time will eventually tell, but I don't see why he won't take his money to kart or car racing.

The problem exists between his ears. Barcia and Canard can ride the same bike better than Reed.

Reed has problems with his bikesetup. But that isn't why he is so grumpy... The thing that makes him feel bad is that BAMBAM and Canard does so awesome on the bike he has problems with. He can't use it as an excuse for doing bad ! That's my opinion atleast ! And I'm a big Reed fan so not trying to be rude here !

The attitude he has now is what makes him a champion.

Bike setup is a funny thing. Wasn't it McGrath who didn't like an updated frame geometry and ran the old frame as long as he could? Finally leaving Honda because of it?

If Reed isn't happy with the way something feels, it's going to be rough. 51 and 41 might be more comfortable with the new setup.

51 and 41 are not that dialed in in the old 450 bike. Reed is and for an old dude it is hard to make the switch from something you are used to and is so deeply baked in.

Sometimes riders just don't gel with a certain bike. Some riders can get every bike to work, other riders need that perfect bike and setting to feel confident. With confidence comes result.

The season just started, racing is the only true testing ground and (hopefully) Reed, RD and RV wil get their rides setup the way they want. (and not only their rides but also the mindset)

I think if youre at that level, you should be able to adjust. The problem is like James, its between the ears. The younger riders are coming up and pushing the envelope and are willing to let it all hang out. Its a young man's sport.

It must be frustrating. Reed was blazing last year.

Now after rebuilding his knee, he is forced to adapt to a new bike.

Too bad he can't just ride the '12.

Chad Reed is bigger then both Canard and Bambam. KW is struggling also. Not every bike will work for every rider.

Kind of sound like James and the Yamaha last year, no?

I truly think he wants to have a good bike and a good setup for next year, for the rider he will sign.

Look at RCH, they have two guys struggling right now. Who has done the testing for them? RC? He cant set up a bike that well, you need to have a good test rider and it helps to have a good baseline to start with.

The King of SX tested the new Honda for Canard and BamBam before the year was up. He probably got them a good baseline to work off of and they continued to progress it from there. But when you are starting from scratch its not that easy to get something to work like you want, especially with new forks.

And wasnt the same Chad Reed complaining about getting his bikes later then anyone else?

Its funny how everyone is also saying its a new bike, stuff changed for Reed, new setup. Which I agree with completely.

But last year, James was the villian for not liking his bike for the same reasons.

Funny how this place works.

I'm sorry but did you just say that RC can't set up a bike that well? He is known as one of the best test riders there is. He can feel changes that most pros can't.

I dont have any real idea on bike setup but I thought Chads bike looked softer than the other boys bikes, he looked to be washing off a little extra speed because of it.

Dudes coming back from a terrible crash and a bunch of injuries, that can slow you down for a little while, just like his Millville crash did. Give him a little more time and he will be back battling up front.

What does "pushing the envelope" mean?

From what I have seen Chad Reed is so picky with bike setup. He only pushes it if he feel 100% comfortable.

IE:
-05 first year of AF on the yz250
-06 first year of four stroke
-10 Kawi
-11 beginning of the year on honda
-13 Queer twin pipe honda

His favorite bikes were the 04 YZ250 and the 09 RMZ450. Those were dialed bikes!
