Just my opinion though..
Since when was an offer from Factory/Yosh Suzuki even on the table?

Dean just tweeted he'll be Lites east coast and 450 outdoors. Giving himself more time to get his shoulders healed up.

Good move imo.

Think he's going East cause he really needs it, or cause he doesn't want to face Eli, increase his chances of the title... Eli def had the wood on him last year...

I know he can't come out and say it or that you even would... Just interesting... The headgames in our sport are HUGE!
really OMG?

How about he has been told to race East? How about his shoulder does need repair time? Ever fucked up your shoulders racing? They are nasty.

And do you really think he is running scared from another racer? Is that how you live your life and if not i am curious why you would think one of the fastest dirt bike racers in the world lives theirs in that way.....

Well, true, it obviously worked for him since he won a championship and has maintained a somewhat good attitude through this whole team change. But, if you look at the champs, they are usually serious and cocky.

Gotta admit I’m disappointed he’s not racing 450s.

Hey... He has one more shot at this title and a payday, I guarantee he wants to make it happen... Why wouldn't you look at who you're racing?

Do you really think it hasn't happened before? There is always speculation about what coast what rider is going to ride, half the reason PC releases it so late is to keep em guessing...

I've heard interviews with riders where they've said the wanted to ride opposite coast to a Bubba, or a Pastrana, RC, Ernie etc... do you think it DOESN'T happen? I don't have competition in my life like that, so it's not the same... And i've dislocated my hip, so don't ask about injuries... it doesn't get worse than that.

No need to get upset about it, like I said, big DeanO fan, just wondering... Eli had him covered last year, no questions asked.

Eli would likely defend West... run number one plate, get testing time for outdoors on either bike etc...

why is that exactly?

because it is pretty far fetched to think that Wilson is trying to dodge Tomac. and if you want to claim that, then you also need to claim that Dungey was dodging Villopoto in their last season in 250 SX. Wilson and Tomac dodged Barcia last year, etc...

Has Wilson come into the supercross season 100% before? I thought that he has always had some off season surgery other than his rookie year. He's pretty damn good at SX. Tomac for sure was better last year but they were close at times.

I say it's a good move to stay down 1 more year.

All I wondered was why the shoulder is now an issue seeing he was going to race 450s...ie A1... And if not racing Eli was in his thoughts at all... Seems with all the injuries at PC it would make more sense to ride West...

Apparently you can't bench race here or try do anything else... You picked and did exactly what you say you hate about this board dude...

PS Swap.... thanks buddy... glad you understand! Smile

His one shoulder was an issue as soon as he hit the deck in Seattle. Unfortunately, it became an even bigger issue at Hangtown. If I'm not mistaken, he had both of them done during the summer.

I had labrum surgery (plus a few other fix-its at the same time), and that was by far the most painful surgery I've ever had. Therapy was no picnic, either. It's not a rapid process.

I get bench racing. But I thought you went about four steps beyond normal speculation on why he may be doing some of this stuff. It was more like rocket-powered bench racing, fueled by beer and a wild imagination.

I was in Vegas at the Supercross finals. From the looks that Dean was shooting at Eli at the podium, I'd guess there's nothing he wants more than to race him again.

perhaps i should have articulated my point a little better, been an emotional week.

I just reckon East is a safe option for recovery, and perhaps as the signature is so late in the day was the best option for the team as the West preparations may have already been sorted?

FTR before Dean got took out the fight was on if i remember right, they were forward and backward and nothing was certain - they both had good and bad form spots and yeah Eli was in charge a lot of the time but not enough to make Dean want to avoid him, it would have been decided @ Vegas if it had stayed clean IMO but we will never know.

Vegas 2013 will be a blast though as they both get to go @ it again before MX kicks in and Dean hits the big class leaving Eli still in the 250 battling for the outdoors title.

From a Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki PR this morning...

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki is well known for its dominance in the 250 class, but 2012 marked a historical year for the team as they fielded their first 450 class rider. The team will continue its presence in the class with the return of Dean Wilson and Tyla Rattray in 2013. Wilson, the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross 250 Class Champion, and Rattray have both seen success with the team, and are excited to be part of a new chapter in Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s legendary program. Both will compete in the 250SX class during the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross series, and will move up to the 450 class for the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series in the hopes of starting a new tradition of dominance to complement the team’s already illustrious history.

It's definitely a safer option, ie more time, but it's also more likely a title and a definite pay day, which if you're moving up to the 450 class you have to think of, you might not get one for a while...

Eli did have him covered till that crash, go have a look at the results... ... crashing is racing, but still...

GuyB, I just feel you've been blasting posts that don't need it, and I don't drink and post... Hell I hardly drink, to busy with work and study! I know you get the shits on here with people flaming but that was bench racing... As if the riders don't think about their comp...

I know DW is claiming east coast but if you look at the injured riders on PC right now....I bet we see him lining up in the west. Add this his internet mind games. Hell, PC doesn't even know what coast their riders are racing up until the week of A1....that's why they pre enter all of their riders for A1.
