Each Riders top 22 Points Finishes per class will be scored towards the District MX Championship.
Who can afford to go to 22 races? Alot of these district races are also held on the same days as area and regional qualifiers and also loretta's. I see there is a guy who got last place every race who is gonna win the championship........
Who here is happy with the amount of races there district has? This is also hurting the tracks because of attendance.

Most familys cant afford to go to 10 races let alone over 20. Rider turnout sucks and you have 5 riders on the gate.
I dont know what the answer is but i know it could be improved.
ps Pete, you must be the guy who got last every race and won the series
Attendance is everything for me now.

So there is a champ for each series that way if you want to you can concentrate on one or the other and still have time for other stuff.
We also try not to schedule opposite the Qualifiers or other big races.
Oh and OCR_snap.......Pete is definitely not a last place guy.....lol.
Pete was an A class champ here in the NESC back when bikes were steel and so were men.....still goes pretty good for an old guy.
Like the D-37 Endurance Series 0-40: win the 24 hr/win the Series (Thanks JCR!)
*sarcasm alert for those silly enough to not get it.
and yes because a national promoter wants to hold a series, ALL the other tracks would be so much better off just not
operating when a regional or qualifier is in their general area, which in the midwest means the first three months of racing weather in the year.
This isn't a stab at LL's but some of you have things backwards.
and it isn't pete24.
grass roots racing starts where?
whining about having to go racing, sounds like crying in MX.
and that just seems weird to me
While it would be nice, there is no perfect solution,
free enterprise is a great concept, it naturally sorts out where people want to go,
some will chase one thing, others a different direction.
lack of funds is understandable in both cases.. there is no perfect solution for that either.

Also, as far as area qualifiers go, we hold the district race at the same place, and it works out pretty well.
I think you also have to look at the fact that we had a huge explosion in popularity for the sport in the 1998 - 2007ish era.
All of the sudden more tracks and more race orgs putting together series events kind of flooded the market so to speak.
When my son started racing in 2004 he would have to run a heat race to get on a 40 rider gate for the 65 Novice class, it was nuts.
Now there aren't as many riders but there are still more racing series, but that has started to be thinned out by the economy.
Guys were going to races on Sat and Sun, plus there was a fair series that had races at night during the week.
The only class that had riders going to that many races was the C class.
I don't go to too many races because my kids also play baseball, so I'm limited to about 4-5 tracks and hope to make 2-3 races all year.
I like the idea of splitting the season in half. I think that would really help attendance.
pay their bills, and have lost home/ land, and many other things
to race mx?! I just do not understand going in debt, or losing
valueable's just to race mx on weekends. And as far as these Sat
Day Prac's that everyone raves about, its jut another way for the
people with $ to get more laps, it is a huge dis advantage to those
who cant spend ALL weekend at the track, but want to race.
nothing like showing up and getting 3 laps and racing against 10-20
others that have 100+ laps n from the day b4.
What ever happen to dialing a track in, in those few laps on sunday
and everyone playing on somewhat more equal ground?!
I basically quit moto and took up golf, becuase Moto has become
so in accessable. Even prac days, take all day because little jimmy's
need the track to themselves for 5-10 50's, or 65's etc...
Sux to have 75-200 sittn around while there is a class for every damn
bike size and skill size. takes All day to get ovr and hour of moto?
F that, golf is more challenging and WAY more accessable, moto is
a joke anymore in our area.!!
However when you bring up issues that skirt into the area of self responsibility,
it seems to be crossing a line that any District should not be involved in?
The Districts are there to promote motorcycling, not restrict the number of events people could attend,so
that some random individual with poor judgement or sense of family budget doesn't
get in over their head or pay their normal life bills?
Almost any hobby has its costs and a participant needs to be aware of them , and participate as
their personal situation allows.
Trimming the number of opportunities to ride or race,
overall just seems a poor way to promote motorcycling.
I agree things can be worked on , and scheduling is a big part of it.
In the big picture overall , I don't feel the Districts should restrict events based on the possibility some riders choice might be to not pay their regular life bills, or follow any other series.
What next , i really want to go jet skiing 8 weeks a year as well, so the district should not hold events those weekends?
I think its better i just choose my own personal priorities , and be happy i can go racing any weekend i want.
The basic premise about scheduling suggested here ,has some merit, but it can get way out there, real fast?
