Our local track

This is a great video of our newest local track in Nebraska. As far as I know it is the first of its kind, funded by the government. Here is an old article in Racer X.

Lincoln, Nebraska – A Government funded project is nearing completion at the Abbott Sports Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska. Schaefer Tracks has been chosen to design and construct the tracks at the premier facility, which will include a full motocross track as well as a mini-track.
Located in the middle of America, the crew at Schaefer Tracks has finally completed what will be a national caliber Motocross track at a facility that is already established and has opened arms to the motorsport community.

This projects overall $3.5 million dollar price tag includes bleachers, scoring tower, irrigation system, restrooms, concessions, as well as needed parking to accommodate for the national level events. “We are delighted to be part of such an outstanding facility and the group of people that have made this possibility a reality,” states Shane Schaefer of Schaefer Tracks.

That's what you get for $3.5mil? Should have dug a big ass pond to have some dirt to build the track.

Maybe the bleachers are gold plated...

It is a mile and a half and 30 feet wide, super fast with some killer jumps and sections.

It has the potential to be an awesome track, it is very long and fast, I rode there on opening day and swore i'd never go back until they watered it properly, I'd love to see it succeed though, the people in charge are very good at what they do, I just don;t understand why they think they can charge a premium to ride a dustbowl, (unsafe), track that eats a tire everytime you go. I would pay $50.00 to ride a prepped track but would'nt ride an unprepped one for free. There may be great turnouts on the ride days, I have no idea. But until I can drive by the on the interstate on a ride day, and not see a huge cloud of dust rising up, I'll just assume they have'nt handled it yet. Too bad because I would pay almost any amount to ride on a correctly prepped track. But i am old, set in my ways, and whine about everything. I figure 30 plus years of racing moto, entitles me to be picky. LONG LIVE MOTOCROSS........

That video made my head spin. Editors had their heart in the right place but it just didn't agree wit the gopro. I couldn't make it through the whole thing. It didn't do the track justice in my opinion.

Kahoka, MO, practice last Sunday. Fast guys @ 2.5 minute laps, mulched sawdust, hills, etc.
They held a Four-Stroke National back in the nineties.

Early with frost:

One of 6 or seven sections like this @ Mid day:

I agree 100%.

These days its always good to hear about Gov't assisting the opening of tracks vs the closing of them-
