That's the title of the latest interview. Have a read its quite good. Unfortunately it seems like he just lost the passion to race. I can understand some of his points but it would be a shame to have leave the sport at 24. He wouldn't be the first for diffenrent reasons bradshaw, lawrence, bayle, hepler...

I haven't read the interview yet, is he still in for bercy? A team in the USA needs to pick him up for SX, he would definitely podium at least once if not more.

I've often thought of Pourcel as a spoiled little boy in the past who, when things don't go his way...takes his toys and goes home. That being the case or not, I respect him for coming back from what could have been a career-ending injury, and I hope he doesn't leave the sport for good. Hopefully a team with a bike that is worthy of his talent and skill set picks him up for 2013...and hopefully he's humble enough to know that he'll still need to prove himself worthy of championship-calber money.

He has gone through and come back from more than most racers could and/or would care to endure.

The current part of the cycle that the sport is in right now doesn't give him the opportunities that might exist for him otherwise.

He has the talent and very possibly the desire to still run up front, with the right circumstances. However it would take a team owner/manager that would allow him a little more freedom than usual. He is a totally different type of rider to manage than say a Dungey, Canard, or Villopoto.

It's too bad his desire won't override everything else and let him accept a results loaded salary that might possibly pay him even more in the end.

I would love to see him continue to race if it makes him happy. If not, and he wants to go a different direction then I'm thankful that he has blessed us with opportunity to witness a great rider with loads of talent and style.

Good read. I have a lot of respect for Pourcel and I really hope to see his racing career continue (in the States). It makes sense to want to be happy in what you do.

Pit Beirer offers him technical helps and and factory parts but he refused cause prefers the stock bike... Whistling

He had a bunch of offers to ride Yamahas and turned them down (Stateside and in Europe)

Been in touch with Honda in the US (which team?) but didn't happen cause he wanted to keep his sponsor UFO and Suomy but Honda had a deal with One until 2014... Pinch

He has indeed been in talk with JWR but he says kawasaki don't want to support him so he would have had to buy his own bike... what? Huh

Agreed. Would be tragic if we didn't get to see a Dungey VS CP rematch. Or see him race Stateside generally. He would be a great asset to the SX & MX championships.

One things for sure... if he stays in shape and doesn't ink a deal before season kicks off.. he would be an awesome replacement rider.

Hopefully won't be the case this year and they'll stay healthy, but look at all the slots that opened up last year... he could of picked any colour he wanted:

Factory Honda half of SX & Outdoors
H&H Kawi x 4
Factory Suzuki outdoors

... the list goes on!

Doubt he would be a replacement rider, that would be beneath him.

Lots of opportunities for him to ride it sounds like but he's over it. Too bad.

I can appreciate watching talented riders competing at the top level, but I honestly couldn't give two shits if Pourcel ever races again. Bring on Barcia, Roczen, Musquin, Tomac, Wilson, Baggett, etc. The sport marches on with or without your self-righteous attitude. Enjoy your UFO gear and Suomy helmet.

It is true, all of them are super exciting to watch and are win/podium contenders, nevertheless CP has more titles and more wins. When you see Barcia winning the MEC, all you can say is he should be riding right with him.

In activity, actually only JS7, CR22, RV2, RD5 and AC222 have more titles:

Musquin: 2 MX2 GP titles
Wilson: 1 MX lites title

The US economy doesn't help, not many big $ rides to go around, especially for someone 24 without a SX or 450 championship. This guy knows the risk/reward.

He needs some FUN! Move to Montreal, a million hot french speaking girls, a sort of North American Europe. My french sucks, but we go there for a week a year just because it rocks.

He could take Goerke's ride at Leading Edge, and be a rock star in Canada.

Would love to see him ride just once, dude has jaw dropping style.

I completely agree Mattii, these guys careers end soon enough when everything goes right. But I also get it that if CP is not enjoying himself he needs to move on. He is smart enough to be able to assess risk vs reward.

I don't post very often, but you know who I was impressed with in that race? Austin Stroupe. I think people forget just how good he was. He damn near beat Townley and Villopoto in his very first outdoor race as a rookie. Stroupe was as good as any of the top guys in supercross and motocross and his raw speed was right there with RV. Both him and Pourcel should both be racing. Pourcel gets a lot of flack, but that guy is a champion. Not once, but twice in the supercross lites class. If it wasn't for mechanical dnf's, he would be a two time lites motocross champion too. He had Canard, and Dungey both covered in the two lites championships he lost to dnfs. I am a big fan of Dungey and Canard, but I think talent wise Pourcel is right with them, and so is Austin Stoupe. They both deserve top level rides, on top tier equipment, and I believe that if they had it their results would speak for themselves.

Stroupe got hurt too many times.... It's a shame.
