Agreed. Dungey's fortitude during that race will be talked about for a long time.

that was awesome. its one thing to hit a triple that size but to over jump it so you can change gears is just nuts. the title of this thread says it all.

Are you guys serious? These days we have dudes doing no-handed backflips, double backflips, and front flips like nobody's business, and you guys get a boner over Dungey reaching his hand down? And what happened to the "legend" in that third moto?

I was walking by Jim Holley after one of the first mains, and asked him if he'd seen Ryan doing that. He said, "Yeah, but you can't be doing that," and held up a couple of fingertips that he'd clipped off courtesy of getting caught in the chain as evidence.

Speaking of never give up attitude. Did RV give up once he didn't have a shot at the million or do you think he really rang his bell?

I thought he gave up initially but after watching the GoPro footage it did look like he hit his head pretty good.

He rung his bell. No doubt dazed.... and once he was out of the $1m or $100k, why risk it?

I thought he looked a little out of it going back to his bike.

When he crashed he was banged up and his goggle frame bruised one of his eyebrows. He figured the risk/reward wasn't there, was bummed that he'd tossed away a chance at another million, and will be at A1.

The Kawi gang said there was no concussion.

What make it impressive is that it was improvised and resourceful. He just did it.....he didn't get to practice into a foam pit.

-2011 starting a lap down at Southwick to finish 7th

-2012 pit stop for gas at Southwick still finished 2nd

-Last night hand shifting in two motos at MEC for second overall. Good Stuff

Wow! That never crossed my mind when he was reaching down there.

Way to go on getting that shot. I was hoping someone snagged a good one while I was picking my jaw off the floor.

I'm gonna have to guess RV meat whistler, instead. JS7 nut hugging is a thing of the past, everyone has switched over to Villopoto. Because RV is "on another level".

I'm not sure that shifter thing, as gnarly as it was, rates Legend status, but you have to admit, how many other guys would have just said F' it and pulled out?
