Hey Mike.Spoke to Brennan today.Nice guy. Thanks for the hook up.He tried the best he could but the guy has to make a buck.Hopefully when his ankle is healed we are gonna ride someday.OTD in Inglewood still beats everyone.07 is $5799 OTD and the 08 is $6899 OTD.I have a connection at Hollywood Honda and he will match OTD but that is bottom dollar.I'm pretty much thinking 0 hour 07 or 08 CRF 450.Most likely the 07 since the 08 is a grand more for a steering damper.Dizzy
I think it is best to shop close to home anyway.

Yea, Brennan is a good guy...he's suppose to come pick up his RMZ tonight.

I'm no huge guy, but I ain't small. I weigh 185 and am 5'10", and could probably drop down to 175 if I actually start training a lot and quit drinking beer, but only one of those things is gonna happen, plus the suspension is set up for a 195 pound rider, so I better start eating oreos and sleep all day if I want the suspension to be prime.

I wish I was your size. Congrats on the new bike though! If you hit up any of the races up north this year let me know, maybe I'll come out of "family forced retirement"

congrats, I picked up a leftover 07 CRF450 this spring, and LOVE IT (after much setup and tweaking). I don't understand the "lazy rider" concept. You either know how to ride fast, or you don't. The bike isn't going to change that.. I can go faster, and ride longer motos on the 4 stroke than I ever could on my CR250 (2000). The bike is just BETTER, everywhere.

You just proved the 'lazy rider' concept.
The 4-stroke you can be lazier on, and go faster longer.
Even if you changed nothing in your habits, you could go faster, longer.
Of course, you ARE comparing to a '00 CR250...

Let us know how you like the 07.I loved my 06.Looking at getting an 07 or 08.Just wondering what any of you who had both, think of the difference. Is the 08 really any better? My 06 was bullett proof.Solid bike.Race ready in stock form.
I have both. I liked the 07 better stock.

Matter of fact I took the steering damper and 22m clamps off of the 08 and put the 24's from the 07 on not to mention the forks on the 07 are much better, 08 forks suck even after a revalve.

Only thing that is better about the 08 is it is a little smoother off of the bottom.

I think the last time I raced there was like 1980.I lived near the Honda Hills track.I'm from Zanesville,Ohio.Never did well at Malvern.Mostly raced Honda Hills,Muskingum Valley,Glen Este Speedway, and a few tracks near Athens.Oh,and of course Mid Ohio,Steel City,Troy, and High Point.

how does that prove that I (or anyone else) is a lazy rider? cause I use less effort, to go faster? i believe the term you are looking for is efficiency

You were a single child weren't you?

Maybe you aren't here for the same reason as most. If you can't handle someone busting your chops, go to a different board. Davis is a good sport, has been around for a long time and knows the game.

maybe 2 stoke versus 4 stroke isn't the reason you can ride this pig faster - maybe it's just that the 4 pork has 7 year newer suspension and better technology

Anyone know if the seat off of an 06 CRF450 will still fit on the 07? I kept my SDG step seat off my 06 and was wondering if it will work.

Why are the 2 stroke only guys so sensitive? I enoy beating the living snot out of our 93 KX125 mini bike, shifting 35 times per lap on our 2004 CR250, and just riding at a more relaxed, faster pace on our CR250F & CR450F. I will always keep a two stroke around just for the sound and smell. As long as its a motocross bike it is fun. I love em all.

Because we got fucked! BOTTOM LINE!

The four stroke was to be a viable option not a replacement. The inept AMA destroyed our option.

Fuck the AMA
Fuck Honda for dropping the two stroke
Fuck Yamaha for producing the terminator (YZ 400).
Thank you Yamaha for keeping the two strokes.
Thank you KTM for keeping the two stroke

AMA... do the community right.... equal displacement in both AM and Pro Class

We didn't get fucked. We got broader more tractable power delivery. Yes this came at the expense of higher bike prices and more oil & air filter changes and greater mechanical aptitude but it was more than worth it unless you can't handle your own engine work.
My next bike purchases will be a 2009 CRF450R and a 2009 CR500AF (250F frame).

I embrace the four stroke change. After racing two strokes for 30 years it is hard to completely give them up. Don't harsh out on those who can't afford both.

AMA amature racing needs to offer 125cc two stroke A,B,C but they do not.

This year I have watched parents move their kids from the 80cc class up to a 250 two strokes because they are now equal displacement legal and they could not afford a new 250F. This is fucken crazy! I have told more than one parent to get out of the sport (at least racing) before they kill their own child due to AMA rules.

You are right. FUCK the AMA!

The Pro racers will always go faster on 250f vs 250t. Same with 450F vs. 450T. There are only 20-30 pro riders between the two classes that stay on the same lap the entire moto. Make it one class open displacement pro class. Its 90% rider 10% bike anyways.

I don't get why people think that 450s will make you lazy now that I have ridden one, they may make you smoother, but those things are a workout trying to ride them fast, gotta toss that extra weight around and still hang on for dear life.

Anyone that says a 450 will make you lazy obviously doesn't know what they are talking about.

Post a reply to: just bought a 450...
