Or does it continue to be an object of Vital ridicule and scorn?

I was one of the believers tell I bought one. I can honestly say It was my least favourite bike ever. I never had any problems with the bike mechanically but It just rode heavy and boring. The 350's that these factory guys have are soooooo much better than what you can buy. I rode the 2013 and compared to the 2012 It was ridiculously better. It was way faster, reved up way quicker, and rode a lot lighter. To late for me though, Ill never buy a 350 again.

Granted the 13 is much better than the 11/12.

I personally have always liked the bike but the Euro's 350's are much better than even our Factory ones. No production rule over there.

Carioli's and Herlings 350s are not 350cc. It was reported at one time that Cariolis bike was over 400cc.

Put the two fastest sand riders in the world on them on a sand track and they will do fine, I think AC could win an AMA outdoor title but not on a 350..............

AC222 350 is a one off bike with no production. Can't compare oranges to oranges here.

Hmmm as in 450cc's? Yeah very good pr by KTM to not use what they produce. Makes sense.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQUh1RhmVu4 If you've ever been to a race with both big and small bikes you'd probably hear a big difference in sound when the different classes are racing, this does not even sound close 450cc's.

If that bike is bad, then that Cairoli is very good. I saw he is the World Champion and also Motocross of Nations hero. Is he the best in the World?

IMO whether a 450 or 350 is best, depends on the rider. I believe riders coming up have every bit as good a chance on the 350 as the 450. Existing 450 riders have little chance of dropping down & being successful. Personnally I much perfer the racing of a little bit less cc's. The wide open style, carrying corner speed, etc. is more exciting than the point & shoot 450's.

If it is a 400 then it still kicks ass!!! Beter than any other bike in Lommel by the looks of things.

I'm really not looking to start a 450 vs 350 thread. Just pointing out the 350 might be a viable race bike.

I think Cairoli and Herlings were so much better than everyone, it didn't matter that they were giving up 100cc. I do believe it's a disadvantage though. If you take identical riders and put one on the 350 and one on the 450, the 450 will win.

Read what I said, those two are sand masters!! Put Herlings on a 250F his results would have been the same. Beating Desalle and Nagel on a 350 is one thing, beating Reed,Bubba,RV and Dungey for a tilte is another. I am not saying Super Toni cant do it he clearly has the Skill but giving those guys a 100cc advantge? Not a chance in hell!!! For amauters its fine they cant use the power anyways but not the top pros, imo.

I know of one fellow vital member mentioned it was the best bike he ever had. So impressed that he bought a new 13 model.

if toni was on any , bike , he d hav it 350 cc , like the yamaha he had , suits him to ride with a lot of revs , plus how light he is , cant see any big riders doing good on a 350 , suits some , but in pro s , not to many of them ,

after coming up short on this huge table close to a corner more times than I managed to clear it, despite being fully pinned from half way around the corner I decided to upgrade to a 250f from my 150sx. Then after the watching the MXDN i decided to i'm going to just jump straight to a 350. So yes, full respect for the 350!

They would have beat us on 125's. I dont think the 350 made much of a difference either way. The 350 is probably a great bike, but it was amazing sand riding skill that beat our guys.

Funny I felt the complete opposite to this. Crazy boring to ride, heavy and not that fast. Maybe you own a 2013, there a lot better but still. I hated every minute on my 350. SHIT resale, oh man I got raped trying to sell it and it wasn't even a year old. I dont know if all Four strokes have such a bad resale value but Ill never buy one again. Seems like know one wants a used one just suckers like me buying new ones.

Those bikes at the MXON, except for Dungeys, were works bikes, they are nothing like you or I would buy.

It is interesting that Short, struggled with his 350. Caroli in MXON here seemed to struggle too. Perhaps it is the difference between the bikes over there and over here. It may be that that the bikes here are slower.

I would not buy a 350. They turn up the performance to compete with a 450 which to me seems like it would be either less reliable or the engine will not last longer, Those are things I don't want. I would prefer a reliable bike that will last longer.

So while a works 350 that has a huge budget might be good for a pro, it does not seem to be the best choice for the average person.
