Wow it realy amazes me that people think they can judge speed by looking at a simple video. If it would show Barcia, Searle, Roczen and Schiffer after eachother, you could never tell who is fastest and who is slowest of them. Doesn't say shit...
Only thing you can you is that it looks good, but is it faster than the other guys? No one can tell...
Shit, remember before SX started this year and all the pre-sx vids of James on the blue bike? all the talk of how good he looked and predictions of him winning at least 10 races and yadda yadda yadda. How did that turn out? its called Vitardation at its finest! Laughing

I swear a lot of peoples brains turn off and common sense fly out the window when they sit in front of a keyboard.

i was thinking the same thing ... we will see soon ... but as a avarage sand rider myself i have to say that the Style of Barcia looks cool cause he is all over the Track .. but when you see some " Sand kings " like Everst .. it always looked pretty slow ... but he always won ;-) ... so you can´t tell by a short video.

Jamma congratulations on being able to route for your country/Herlings without being a douche. Some of the other "euros" could learn from you..

For comparison Herlings on the 350 in the sand yesterday...

I hope which ever side wins has a little bit of humility in victory. Otherwise, might need to leave until the mec, lol

Are you talking about the ryder cup?

There are 30 odd sides to this mx race! Hoping for a GB victory, and Ireland to beat the Aussies Woohoo

Every time I see a vid of the Americans practicing they look more and more comfortable.

Sunday (potentially Saturday too) is going to be epic.

Jeffrey amazing as always (until the end Smile ) . But they all look good. I also like how they've managed to put some time in together as a team. I don't know how important a good team relationship really is but it certainly can't hurt.

I haven't read the other blog, but Ken admittedly said on video he wasn't riding that good at all during the morning, the time Barcia was even there. All the dudes looked fast, but there was never a time where someone straight up got passed. There were times when people would play cat and mouse a little, but no one ever did a full on race session (together) that it seems people are playing up. Typical practice session where someone would slow down, let another rider pass, and then tail along for a bit and vice versa. Lap times were pretty solid yesterday...

If it did happen, I didn't witness it... and I was out there pretty well the entire time. I do have shots of those two railing together though.

Looks like the dutch team selects rougher places for practice.

You're right, JH is hauling the mail in that vid. That track is crazy! No room for error in there with all those trees and he is pegged everywhere. I hope most of all we see some epic world stage battles this weekend, I personally am bored to tears with runaway racing after so many years of McGrath,RC and Stewart domination in America. Good racing is where it's at. I have family in Holland so I have a little soft spot for team NLD Smile But I will rub it in to them if we win Smile

I've never understood how to get this keen eye on telling if someone is faster than someone else in a youtube video of them riding alone, or practicing with some other riders, but both riders of course will be on different tracks... special glasses? Lasik?

And lol at the guy making a big deal about Roczen passing Barcia in practice Woohoo

I would like to see our guys beat herlings if they can due to all of the hype but the most important thing is the team win. Don't chance a crash because of herlings.

I have to say Barcia surprised me in that vid. Looks very good. But if you watch that vid again. He's seated in all the corners. Herlings will put on a riding clinic I hope.

There is essentially no spectating at Lommel. After getting bored watching one corner if you can squeeze to the fence for a while, you retreat to the infield and watch the race on the jumbo tron. The track is essentially a parking lot track (it's actually a vacant industrial lot in the middle of an active industrial park) with deep sand. I have no idea why it was chosen as a MX Des Nations track other than the perceived disadvantage to team USA ? I happened to be in the area in 09 during the GP and took my son, we were stoked to finally go see the Euro boys do their thing but were severely disappointed with the lack of spectating.
Here is the best spectating at Lommel

The sand gets pretty bad well into the moto

Again best view of the track

You could get freakin close to the action though Smile We actually had a blast in this corner with a bunch of drunk moto fans, eventually the board got pushed over by one of the riders and a pile of people went flying Smile Followed by a roar of laughter!
