LMFAO MXGeoff is doing everything to make Youthstream / Luongo look good. Guess what, it's not gonna happen Geoff. Ther're ruining the sport!

Very interesting interview, I think he's about right on the MXDN. There's a lot of riders who can potentially do a lot of things but everything has to go right on the day - as with the Olympic example he gave. USA deserve a lot of credit here for always being able to pull together on the day.

That has to be one of the most impressive things about team USA, sure they have always had the strongest line up each year of the MXoN for the most part,

But they still have to put in 5 top motos or at least four with a half decent 5th.

To get through so many years with no big issues and to come out on top year after year is impressive.

They nearly come undone last year but were able to pull it all together in the final moto.

You need more than just the best team to win the MXoN, you also need everything around you to go nearly perfect.

It is not worth "reading" the audio interview that was posted?

Seven in a row (or thirteen) isn't rolling dice or hitting a jackpot. It takes teams that will dig deep when faced with challenges and setbacks.

USA wouldn't have seven in a row if they were a country the size of Holland. They win becuase their third rider is stronger than other teams. They don't dig deeper, they just use their advantage to the fullest. They are pretty awesome under pressure though, but they have had a lot of luck too the past few years that is out of their control.

Americans win because they are the best period.... I can't believe how many threads this is discussed. Look our top guys RV,JS,BB,TC,RD,ET,JB to name a few would destroy anyone who races the GP's on any real track, this excludes this weekends track, at any time...

No they aren't, they are all just as good. Thanks for proving the false perception the MXDN win creates in the US.

Because sometimes the smaller countries have 3 riders on a par with US - like Belgium in the late mid to 90s. But usually they can't sustain that year after year because they have less riders to choose from. That's why the US win more years than not, they have more top riders to choose from.

Pretty obvious really.

Yes, we're the fastest due simply to our size & dumb luck.

Okay, let's change it up. Say there was a Team California, Team Texas, and Team Florida in the MXoN. If those three swept the podium would you feel better? Smile

How about Team Cairo (Georgia) and Team Tallahassee (Florida) and Team Cedar Rapids (Iowa) and Team Decatur (Texas)?

Though Team Lommel (Belgium) would still be tough to beat....

The desperation and dilusional thoughts of this guy is getting plain 'tarded. What next, is he going to claim any American that has European lineages as well? I just hope China or India doesn't field a team because we would all be fucked!

i wish i were born in China, i would surely be a multi-time world champion by now due to the population size alone

Bullshit.

The ISDE shows just how silly your reasoning is.

Too bad Dave didn't say what he really thinks about Youthstream / Luongo. I mean, there is a reason the his team doesn't do GP's and just foccuses on the races in England.... That is what MXGeoff should have asked him.

I can't tell if you guys actually think population has no influence or if you're just giving mccread a hard time.

I hope it's the latter.
