Bye the way did you know that the point of a discussion is that you first counter the other his point and then you can take a swing to him personally. But your attacks are always personal without any point. You doubt my manhood (probably my d*ck isn't as big as those Italian dicks you are used to but I'm pretty proud at my manhood). You call me little but that isn't really offensive but more racism, calling a guy with a growing disorder little...
Little question: If you aren't on the payroll of YS why did you felt the need to come here and defend YS?
And please stop blaming the "green" ones because youthstream and guys like you are as bad or even worse!
We, the motocrossfans have to pay a lot of money to see these races and it's getting worse and worse. Priem, Schiffer, Aigar Leok, De Reuver, Boissiere and lots more aren't gp-riders anymore but we get to see Thacker and Coicu. It's just a fucking shame!!!!

If the Gp's are so well paid .... why did they all started racing enduro?
The end is nearer than you think.
I think Loungo, overall, has done a great job for the GPs. I don't agree with everything, I would like to see prize money for the privateer teams and qualifying, but nothing will ever be perfect. Apart from that I do think the GPs are a great event to be at these days, and it is producing some fantastic riders.
Davey does things a totally different way, a more hands on approach maybe, but the ulitmate goal is the same... both are trying to grow motocross. In the US it is different, DC had to make the MX series attractive again after the sx only contracts. He did it.
Until someone can come up with a better idea for the World Championship... and make it work. Then you may stop complaining, because I am guessing it is a lot more difficult job than people are making out. All four GP motos can be watched live on the internet all around the world... that is some achievement. It is also on Motors TV live as well. World MX has never been so easily viewed.
Don't forget, the guys in the US aren't mx only, a lot of their salary from the teams comes from SX too. Whereas there is only motocross in the rest of the world... that makes it harder to gain exposure, especially since the large mx market of the US doesn't have much interestin GPs, and if you listen to Luongo you can understand why he has made the changes, even if you or I don't really agree with some of them.
Overall the GPs are a lot better than they used to be imo.
While I don't agree with the notion of paying to ride, riders such as Tommy Searle and Jake Nicholls would not be where they are today without large investments made on their behalf at the start of their careers. Whats more it is common practice in virtually ALL motorsport due to high operating costs and limited public appeal unfortunately. Even if you reintroduced qualifying (which I am in favour of by the way) you will still end up with riders who are financially capable of travelling and competing at the majority of the GP's and others who are not. So it will still seem unfair to the guys who are fast, but don't have the resources. Few local building firms will see any benefit of sponsoring a local rider racing out in Brazil, so riders will depend on wealthy benefactors who have a personal interest in the sport ... which kind of brings us full circle to whats happening now!
In terms of bikes, travel, spares and equipment GP racing is far, far more expensive now than it used to be when travelling around Europe in a battered old van and working on your own 'bike' was the norm.
That's takes the fun out of it.
Don't read too much into the fact that it's confusing to a lot of folks that there are two different AMAs, two different AMA logos, two different offices -- one in Daytona, one in Ohio -- that sanction Lucas Oil Motocross (AMA Pro Racing) and Monster Energy Supercross (AMA).
Contrary to The Rock's odd guesses, I have zero intention of ever starting or running a sanctioning body. I'm kind of busy as it is...

May the record show I asked a question Is MX Sports leaving the AMA and there was no guessing in my post on Motonews. I don't make stuff up....it's an excellent habit.
Can we let the record show that?
Thanks Jeff.

Do you really want to keep this going here?
Clowns riding around, which end of the race do you watch, Cairoli, Herlings and Searle or those slower guys? I know who I watch, and they are not clowns.
The MX1 class is healthier than ever, as is the Euros, and the MX2 class is seeing a lot of unexpected young heroes. I love going to the MX.
But then again I have a positive attitude in everything I do. I am also pumped I can offer people a FREE service like www.mxlarge.com and my FREE e-magazine Motocross Illustrated, all thanks to sponsores like Youthstream, KTM, Alpinestars, Leatt, FMF, Fox Racing and so many more. My contribution to the sport is a good one.
Why did they decide to take away the qualification money and the pricemoney? Nowadays a fast privateer doesn't even think about riding from - let's say - Belgium to Italy, pay more than 1000 euro to race and knowing that he won't get any money, even if he would win the race? To me that is just unbelievable. All the money goes straight in the pockets of Youthstream / Luongo instead of the racers. We should be looking at the best riders of the world in the GP's, not the 5 best riders and 35 best paying riders!
I"ve spoken to a lot of guys who used to qualify and a lot of them were not that great, and often didn't take the GP experience that seriously. There are probably 20 to 30 good riders in MX1 and the last 10 does anyone really care. Sounds harsh, but it's the truth.
A lot of these kids who are paying are taking it seriously and like Josh Coppins in 1994 they might improve enough to get there eventually.
What, if anything, would you like to see change with the current GP format/set-up?
AK
Look at the top 30 in the MX1 points. That is a pretty impressive list of riders in my opinion.

I have no problem with riders wanting to race and finding a personal sponsor who pays their entry into a team. I love the way the Euro championships now run with the GPs, that is really going to help our sport no end.
It would be nice to see some type of prizemoney system formed, be that from outside sponsors or whatever. I mean once the prizemoney was taken out the riders got the teams to put into their contract roughly what they might have mad, so the riders, at least the top 10 or so in that era had that written into their contracts. Mind you that was then and I don't know how they do it now.
YS decided many years ago to put a lot of money into television and the presentation of the GPs. People don't understand that thats a pretty expensive excerise and it's made our sport look a lot better. Youthstream are always looking for ways to make the sport in Europe look cooler and they continue to hire people who can help them do that. That all costs money, but people just assume YS stick the money in their pocket, but it isn't the case.
I generally try and ask former riders what they think, and guys like Dave Thorpe has said he feels the riders don't know how lucky they are now with the professionalism of the sport and the way the circuits are prepared. I would rather listen to a guy like Thorpe than some bloke on a forum who just wants to be negative because everyone else is.
I would love to see the Saturday race as a mixed MX1/MX2 race, would be fun on some circuits to see how they would end up.
Geoff
Circuits like Valkenswaard, Teutchenthal, St Jean d'Angely, Kegums, Uddevalla, Sevlievo, Loket, Lierop and more continue to be involved in the GP series and all do okay out of the GP series.
Visiting countries like Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, or Russia is really good for the sport in general.
In tough times I think YS are doing an awesome job.
It also seems that DC has answered the question - which didn't really seem necessary to do but he did it anyway.
Just how I'm reading all this back & forth nonsense.
My name isn't Jeff BTW....
