GB announced this weekend at the British GP.

The swiss have a good team!

Italy should have Cairoli, Guaneri and Lupino

Holland will have Dereuver, Coldenhoff and Herlings. Not sure if either have been announced though

Is Van Horebeek definitely the MX2 rider? Roelants is faster in sand I think and could beat Baggett, which could be crucial.

I guess I missed the announcement of the NZ team. It's a shame that Ben Townley is injured, but Cody Copper is definitely not a bad replacement. Coppins was a no brainer. Given his recent form in the Australian nationals, I was thinking Kayne Lamont should be the MX2 rider. He is still pretty young, so has a few more years of MX2 eligibility left.

Anyone know if Lamont will be allowed to race his SX250??

I'm really looking forward to seeing Josh Coppins out there again amongst some of the top AMA and GP regulars. Hard not to be a fan of him.

The BIG question actually in France is : do we have to take Chris pourcel or not ???

It seems that the french federation hasn't the answer yet.

Is Pourcel much better than Boog in sand? Doesn't seem he really likes the rough sand these days.

Pourcel's problem isn't ability in the sand.

It's more about "motivation".

Does that mean Simpson is out? Seems like Anstie is getting the 450 ride which is not really fair on Shaun.

Think I would have went with Simpson, Anstie on 450s and Searle on MX2

Anstie on the 450 would be a very strange choice ...

My pick would be Nicholls (250F), Simpson and Searle (450F).

Anstie borrowed Whatley's practice bike for Hawkstone British Championship (whatley's team manager is Prince the MXDN team manager) and got second oa running with Strijbos here and there.

He is staying with Prince for the rest of the season, getting to practice on a 450 and has been promised a factory 450 if he chosen and he is good in the deep sand...

Yesterday I saw Van Horebeek ride the Belgian Championship on a similar track as Lommel and he rode great. Also if you look at the MX2 world championship at the moment there is only one men better as Jeremy Van Horebeek and that is his teammate and friend Jeffrey Herlings. So Smets took the second best MX2 rider in the World Championship at the moment and the guy that ended third last year at the GP of Lommel after Herlings & Roczen.

Bye the way the news goes around that Joel Roelants has a virus in his blood and that makes him weaker, not a good thing at a track as Lommel.

And you really think Anstie deserves the 3rd spot on the british team based just on one race ???

Kind of political choice, I would say...

Anstie has done nothing to warrant a spot on that team. Simpson is the best pick, even brad Anderson would be a better choice.

I think that the team for Great Britain will be:

MX1: Tommy Searle
MX2: Jake Nicholls
MXO: Shaun Simpson

If you look at the results from Simpson from the day he got on the Rinaldi bike, then you need to conclude that he deserves that place. Tommy Searle is the best British rider at the moment and then Jake Nicholls is the best MX2 rider besides Tommy.
