It's the first race after the break, so I guess there may have been some track work done (I have no idea) but either way, a C guy shouldn't be within 20 seconds of RC on any track, lol!

RC was consistently running 1:58's and 159's. Today, 250C guys started the moto at 2:01 and 2:02's. Had last lap C class times in the 204's today. On the LAST lap.

. . . and the winner of the Schoolboy class that ran right before the 250C mod was running consistent 1:56's and 1:57's. So the winner of the C class was 5 seconds a lap, or 40 seconds, slower than the Schoolboy winner. Seems about right to me.

I couldn't believe how different that track can be from moto to moto when I went in 09, you literally cannot compare laptimes from moto to moto.

My friend got 2nd in the C class two years ago, and he was anything but a C class rider. He rides A now, was riding B at the time. Get rid of that class already. I think it should be replaced with a former pro 125 two-stroke class. RC, Reynard, Stiles, Pastrami, Dubach and the rest of em.

No different than the state swim meet I took my kid to this weekend in Corpus Christi. Fast kids swimming in the 30 second range yet there were kids in the same class there whose families drove from all over Texas, paid entry fees, stayed in hotels and were swimming 1:30. Varying track conditions or not, there is no way a true Novice should be within 5 - 10 seconds a lap of a multi-time MX/SX champion. I've got a 14 year-old running Novice now and I would be thrilled if his times were within 40 seconds a lap of RC.

I don't agree with the Super Mini comparison either, as that class is a stepping stone to the B class, not a feeder for the Novice class.

My biggest issue with running Novice at LL's is the trickle-down effect it has on local racing and, in my opinion, the industry in general. The Novice class is a critical step for a young/new rider and the system should support development of these individuals at a reasonable pace. As it stands now, once these guys/girls start clearing jumps they are forced to leave the Beginner class and immediately get worked by these aspiring LL "C" Class Champions. After several last place finishes they get discouraged and quit racing altogether.
