Has anyone at Vital heard of this new Motocross game? Toyota Motocross 2013?

I apologize for this being in the wrong forum but there is no one in the game room and this is moto related and we NEED a new console to promote our sport so this seems valid.

From what I gather, Jeremy, who is a regular at supercross.com is one of the developers. Looks like the game has been in development for quite some time, is coming December or early next year and it is called Toyota Motocross 2013. All the real SX venues, the real MX tracks (minus Unadilla which he said they could not obtain rights to), real riders, real points series.

He said the reason for the unusual name is that Toyota wants to get more heavily into MX and thus this sponsorship. Jeremy said that it was going to be titled after an energy drink but if it was named after one it would not have had the other in game so they went with Toyota.

Sounds really promising. For consoles and PC. It appears that a website should be up in the next week or so with a beta test going to be DLC sometime in August to gather feedback.

Interesting read. I just PRAY it is true. Mud is fun for a bit but too arcade and rather boring. MXS is great but I want to play as real riders and want to race a real points series.

Anyone know anything about this?

I dunno I wouldn't trust some random guy on the internet. Although it would be sweet if true!

We can only hope it is true.

Dunno. He doesn't seem very professional by the way he writes.

If it isn't true then this dates quite a while back and seems like a long and pointless fraud. That...and the fact I want it to be true so bad...makes me believe it is legit. Plus it is PRETTY unusual title. Toyota Motocross 2013. Almost so unexpected that if I was making something up I wouldn't call it that.

I try my best to keep my finger on the pulse of any and all MX games. For example, the FB page about the AMA Supercross was complete BS by some kid. There was at first a petition to EA. That was legit and they did at least meet about the game according to a very good source I know. When they declined this kid told a LOT of people there was a new developer and GDD (Game Document Design). But it was ALL FALSE.

Jeremy's topic about an MX game has gone on well over a year. Probably closer to 1.5. Which, if legit, would probably be able the proper length of time for a game to be created. There have been several topics on that forum regarding it. I'm not sure but as I said...if it is a hoax it has been going on for a LONG time. . So I am hoping and praying it is all legit. And I kinda think it actually is. =)

forget the mx game BS, how about him saying toyota throwing around the idea of making an mx bike? first ive heard of that. and way more interesting than some crap mx game.

That is interesting but I'm not going to presume it is a crap mx game. One day we will get a true replica of AMA Supercross and motocross in video game form. To this day we still have nothing close to replicating what e see each week on Speed/Fuel/NBC, etc.

But a Toyota MX would be freakin sweet, dude. Smile

He's full of shit, in the past he claimed to have worked with Rainbow and other stuff, but having talked to people who really worked there, he was just making stuff up. You'll notice how there's never anything concrete about the title, and how all the reveals keep getting pushed back. It's not real.

Really? How much more realistic can it get than MX Simulator?

Lol uuurrgh, endlesss argument, as much as you want it to be, mx sim isn't a realistic simulator when it can be played best by a console controller + real life riding does not take hours on end to just get to a point where you can take a corner without stupidly tipping over. Hell, i've seen the replays of the sx rounds they ran, even the leaders fell 2 or 3 times a race, heaps real.

What we need is a refinement and bugless version of a mixture of MVA physics, along with real replica tracks and riders.

That will be what i want to play every night infront of my plasma when i knock off work.

I hope this game is true, but it sounds very shotty, and more like a kid behind a keyboard dribbling shit.

You're always gonna push harder in a game than real life just because there's no risk of injury. Hence the increased crashing.

Yeah, the low speed physics aren't great, but once you get the hang of it, nothing gets close. It's more of a simulator than anything else, the physics are grounded entirely in reality unlike MVA games.

He keeps talking about "tittle", not too convincing. I would be more interested if they had found "titty" sponsor. I don't think this game is coming any time soon if ever...

I thought this was funny too.

"no point in calling it James stewert motorcross.... game just keeps crashing..."

"plus you never would know which team he will show up on"

Let me just throw this out there before another topic gets out of hand.

I totally respect and appreciate JLV and the amazing detail of MXS but please guys lets not make this another MXS is all we ever need topic. That game is amazing for what it is. BUT, it does not replicate what we see on tv. It is NOT the NBA2k12/NHL12/Madden12 of our sport because it does not have Reed/Stewart/RD5/RV2/Canard/KR70/JB20 etc and it does not have a real points series that replicates, for example, the SX series such as EA Supercross 2000. It does not have commentary from the Speed crew such as RS/JE or the Fuel/NBC team of JG/JE or the overlays of a broadcast. I like MXS and it does a lot better than most but it is FAR from being what I want in a MX/SX game as I dream of the NBA2K12 of MX/SX.

I know....it will probably never happen. But you gotta at least hope.

Whats up with the FIM game... MUD? I havent seen one thread on it yet its been out for months.
8/1/2012 3:10am Edited Date/Time 8/1/2012 3:15am
I have several threads on it including an in-depth review over on Vital's Game Room. Just goes to prove my point that not many people even go there. =)

MUD got everything right except the actual control/physics. The AI is good with top tier riders being on top, full points series, real teams/bikes/riders . It has it all but the physics and control are just way too simple and it makes the game boring, in my opinion. Whereas MX vs ATV Alive/Reflex got the control and physics pretty darn good but got nothing else right. (poor AI, no full points series, the lack of authenticity without all the DLC payout). If you could combine the two games you would have a winner.

Still, a decent starting point for Blackbean. They just need to pull their simulation aspects from their other racing titles over to MUD.

Good job at taking my simple post about simulator and twisting my words. I never said it was a realistic simulator. I said it was a realistic motocross game, which it is.

Valid point. But honestly, I just want to start a topic about a new MX game without it turning into a MXS thread. And I like MXS. Still, it is not my dream mx game by any means.

It sounds good, like too good to be true Pinch

Definitely a bit weird that all we've heard about it is one guy, on a low-key forum. You'd think if they are releasing it in December, they would be trying to get the name out there and promote as much as possible.

Still, I'm really, really hoping it will turn out to be true - it does sound good Cool

Hes full of shit. He says he has a Beta test coming out for download on the consoles this month. The consoles dont let you beta test on them. Hes told people its being featured in a magazine its never happened. Do he have no idea how many people it takes to make a game? He acts like oh im just banging this shit out in my basement.... The madden team is around 35 full time programmers and graphics artists and thats just to add to a game that was finished 20 years ago! Also he has to take a break to do a comic for DC comics.......Seriously?
