I haven`t seen it but it seems like track is kind of supercrosish. Will be great racing.

They only run 30 gates in MX1 in the world championship don't they Kongols ? But down to only 19 is not great for a world Championship, seems to be a bit of a trend in racing around the world though, apart from the United States.

It's a shame and doesn't help the sport grow in any way but maybe find a poker partner for Luongo. Oh wait, there was news in the beginning of the year of a new russian sponsor. It just seems they're despirately trying to find quick money.

They run 30 gates because they couldn`t fill 40. I guess they`ll have to run 20 next year.

I like the idea that it goes to different places and allows new people to see the riders, after all it is meant to be a World Championship and should sometimes take place outside of Western Europe. But at the same time it sucks that only a handful of teams can afford to follow the tour and makes the series look a little bit lame. Not really sure what the answer is.

Youthstream would make it a lot better by not charging the 1000 euro's entree fee and starting to pay prize money.The riders make the serie so youthstream should support them instat of making money out of them.

A trip to Russia costs a lot of money and if you can ride a race a lot closer to home were money is on the line, for lots of people that's the better choice

You don`t understand their culture. When sidecar WC was there for a first time there was huge LED TV in every box but at the same time track hasn`t seen water ,ever. Those TV`s didn`t work, but they were there. Priorities are upside down over there.

I know what you mean. On the other hand, it is kind of dangerous and makes the events look a bit amateurish when the local riders in countries like Mexico and Brazil are far slower than the regular GP riders.

Well, they did have a depression, for maybe 20 years, bad enough to cause a revolution.

Shame too, it was great when they ran.
Sure, they were the bad guys. Rode inferior equipment, won World Championships
with team tactics and brute strength.

Kinda like the Olympics, they used to be the stuff.
Hopefully, they bring it back.

To me it's just a huge joke. There may be a market in those far-away countries, but it's not relevant at this point! The expense-reward ratio is so wrong. I'm so curious what the spectator turnout will be.

At this point I think the GPs would benefit more from indirect growth, like a strong supercross series.

I struggle to understand the concept of steering motocross towards a new, uninterested audience, and in so doing, pissing off the enthusiastic, hardcore, knowledgeable fans that were the foundation of the sport. Not to mention the teams and riders that are the show.

I kind of like the experimental rounds, but 2 new far away rounds might be a bit to much for a few teams. Mexico was a failure so was the US gps, i believe next year is indonesia? i also believe when trying a new venue the TV package must be strong in showing the racing in those countries how else are they going to build interest and a fan base.

If weather is good for sunday ( i hope so) you might get a good turnout, Back then motocross was huge in russia.
Anybody know what the weather will be like for sunday?

How do you know they are uninterested? Look up motocross in russia in the 70s and 80s very big. Dont know what tomorrow brings but expanding to new venues might be a big hit and if its not a success then dont go back.
