Staying healthy is a skill. Luck plays a role in any given injury, but the more time you spend riding out of your comfort zone, the more likely you are to be injured. It's not a coincidence that the guys with the most "pure speed" are the guys with the most injuries. The fact that RD has been healthy at the end of each season is not entirely due to luck.

Doesn't matter. To paraphrase someone...you got to be in it, to win it.

One could argue that the injured ones rode over their head in some cases.

Regardless, if championships were decided by "what ifs" then life sure would be boring.

Boring is having 3-4 of the top 5 riders not racing.

Nobody should be hating on Dungey for doing what he's supposed to be doing. Injured competition or no, he's winning. No one would be saying a thing if it was Windham capitalizing...

I just don't like the Dungey braggarts. It's quite obvious why Ryan's dominating.

I don't want to jinx the kid but, Roger is pretty good at picking, and signing the riders that are both fast enough to win and will stay healthy over the long run.....Dungey was a no brainer for him.

I thought Dungey looked a little uh, Villopoto-ish out there today. He seemed to be hanging it out there on the edge a little. He seemed to be slamming some corners and through the sand sections. Villopoto to me seems to be hammer the track and Dungey looked a little more like that to me today.

If if's and buts were candy and nuts, oh what a time we'd have.....

Dungey is on a different level than all his current competition today. That's what he works for, and is paid to do.

When the other riders come back to the gate, we'll all see who's ready for action.

Seems Ryan, Ryan, Chad, James, Trey and a few others have been in the mix when healthy. It also seems the one that can stay healthy longest has the best chance. Guess there's more to winning than pure speed..

How'd he do against a healthy Stewart this year? Or a dialed in RV at the end of last year?

Yeah, he got spanked... Woohoo

Point is, it's boring without the other guys. Carry on!

Ok RV wasn't dialed in until Dilla right? You're smarter than that Outsider. I don't argue Villo was the deserving champ, just don't feed me that bull that RD can't hang with him

Didn't say he couldn't hang, clearly he can. I do believe that when both are healthy, RV can and will push harder and win more often than not, but then crashing is always part of that equation.

I do, Dungey lost because while he was whipping everyones ass at Freestone he ran out of gas. Add the crap that happened at Southwick and you have Villopoto as the champ.

IMO..Dungey has a lot more style and speed than he's showing at this point..He Is not being challenged and hasn't needed to hang it out there, which he's capable of doing when being pushed. We've all seen how he steps it up when he needs to. I believe that he'll be up to the task when the others return...and won't give up his title without a fight....Question I have is. will he have his Supercross game cranking this next season? We shouldn't forget that Roger is guiding the Young man's career.

It's a pretty sad world we live in when a rider is hated for being a clean living, hard working, fit, respectful of others, clean racing, all around nice guy who just happens to be crazy fast on a motorcycle.

I just don't get it.

You must have missed the first four races. He's been challenged, passed and tried everything possible in those races.

Does anyone really hate Dungey? I don't and doubt anyone else does, except the guys he's beating every week!
