My guess is he won't come back until he's 100% healthy. That might be 2013 SX. Everyone knows he could go out there and get top five right now, but he won't race unless he knows he has a good chance at a win.

Did you see this tweet?

James Stewart ‏@js7
On June 14 my Friend Jehrrod Thames aka Rado lost his 9yr old son due to a heart failure. Myles was like a little bro to me & my family.

Very sad deal... RIP

Good! I hope this is true. I can see Dungey getting 2nd and settling though so those battles at the front are probably long gone.

I'm surprised they let a camera out at their track to take that picture; wouldn't want another implausible butterfly effect situation to possibly end his career.

I don't know. I've got a feeling Dungey wants to beat a healthy James straight up this season outdoors. I can see him still giving it 100%, pushing for the win.

You think the smartest, most consistent, and safest rider on the track is going to go 100% to beat a guy he doesn't have to beat for the main goal, which is the championship?

I'm just going off of what I saw in the first two races. He didn't back down, but he didn't take any unnecessary risks either. He's in his prime and I think he wants the top spot on the box.

That was when he needed to beat Stewart in order to win the championship. That has now changed. If they have a big cushion on 3rd (highly likely), I don't see Dungey getting close to Stewart, especially with Stewart's track record.

He hasn't backed down even without him there. Dungey wants to better himself and his bike, so I dont see him cruising

So does anyone know what the injury is? I heard it was his wrist but broken, sprang, tornin something? I don't know of an injury that is not explained and come back in three weeks or so and be fine. I would like to see him come back only if he is healthy.

This is about winning the championship. Each individual race is forgotten. The only thing that will that will be remembered is who won the Nationals in 2012. Details will be forgotten very quickly. James is 120 points down, with 7 left. Has no chance to win it, without some very poor performances, or mechanical problems, or crashes by Dungey , and others. Dungey is not as loose as James, and can grip the fact that winning the gold, doesn't mean winning every race. James started this season with a chance for the title, but he has lost it. I believe it makes a big difference in his attitude. I don't know what James or Dungey will do. But I, ( I think ), Dungey will be playing the rest of this game for the title, and nothing else. What better way is there to improve yourself, and your sponsors, than winning the 2012 Motocross Championship?

Pretty sure Dungey is a RACER and most racers like to win. Sure he won't be bombing Stewart in the final corner for a win, but if his speed is right there with JS7, I think he would go for it. Often slowing yourself down and getting out of your normal race pace is more dangerous than pushing it. He will give it 100% like I'm sure he always does and if that's good enough for a pass or to hold him off, then that's what will happen.

tvo314. I totally agree with you on everything you said. It's what I wanted to say, but couldn't say it as good as you did. We agree.
