"Filthy" Phil Nicoletti.

I think it's going to stick.

I don't like Chupacabra - I believe Blake " Honey Badger" Baggett is more appropriate.

Honey badger is taken by Tyrann Matheiu (LSU football player), no way BB12 comes to mind when I hear that. He needs something but it shouldn't be chupacabra or honey badger...someone keep thinking.

Filthy Phil is pretty good lol

I don't know why his nickname isn't "Hammer Time." He always talks about waiting to drop the hammer mid-moto.

My wife calls him "Bilbo Baggett". She likes to watch him race and her favorite color is green. Smile

Filthy Phil?! Boy that's one that I'd be proud of. Certainly don't want to put Fs in the place of Bs in Baggett's name. Cool

I figured it was nothing new, I didn't think Weege would be as bold as to just tag "Filthy" on there for no reason.

So, what do we think about the "running out of gas" report from the pits?

With 18 minutes to go in the moto?

things that make you go hmmmmmm..... Now I know eleven10 makes a living building motors, and does a damn good job doing it. And a motor letting go while leading a National is not intuitive to business, and I also respect what that team has accomplished with the Ewok Warrior Alex Martin, but...c'mon man... out of fuel at 18 minutes in a 30 minute moto?

I can't believe Chupacabra stuck.. it was just a stupid word Matthes and Ping came up with for Weigandt to work into the TV broadcast somehow last year.

But yea, it's been Filthy Phil for a while. It may have been the first time it was used on the TV broadcast though.

"El Chupacabra" is more than approrpiate, it comes out of nowhere, takes what he wants and dissapears! It might not sound cool but it sure describes both beast's "modum operandum"!

Motor letting go? Then how the same engine dang near holeshot the second moto from the far outside? He ran out of fuel and he ran out early, but it was 24 minutes in not 18. Still, way too soon to go dry. He even got topped off after the parade lap. The Eleven 10 guys are making serious power and Phil was twisting the shit out of it. Seeing that bike roosting the factory unobtanium was quite exciting.

The second moto had him lined up with a seriously expanded tank that had to be wedged back into the bike and again was topped off after the parade lap. It took a good bit to top it off. Not sure if he would have made it to the finish had he not taken a digger.

Alex put in two solid rides for 15th o/a. But both of them were up front off the start. Serious power out of those bikes. And you just gotta love the box van effort.

Different riding style? One big rider , one tiny rider? Fuel pressure? Flux capacitor charged too high? Did sound as if Phil was riding a bit higher in the revs than Alex from my view along the fence. I understand they are back at it testing in Colorado this week and working the bugs out. Other than hanging out with the team this past weekend, I know nothing. Wink

So he rides so much higher in the revs he ran out of gas almost 10 minutes early?

Not believing it.

So what do you believe happened?

He was out of fuel, period. The bike got washed, a fresh air filter, fresh oil, fuel tank was expanded, chain was lubed and back on the line for moto two. I stood there and watched it all. The fact that some people have a hard time seeing some kids in a box van running with the factory unobtanium puzzles me. I think it's the neatest thing since sliced bread.

So once again, what exactly is your take on it?
5/30/2012 3:01pm
but why wont you believe it is now the next 'why' question. if he was riding the bike harder and revving it higher fuel would probably burn quite a bit faster
5/30/2012 3:49pm
theres alot of dumb going on in this thread. good thing newmann is here to keep things straight. and good on you newmann for providing the motor home to the team. thats damn cool. going to any other nationals?
