After watching Freestone, it is a given. He had the speed to get James but the difference between the two is that Dungey is SMART and PATIENT. At round 12, Dungey will still be solid. Others, not so much. I highly doubt anyone else will be able to ride that kind of speed and stay off the ground for 20 more motos.

The team-traitor (James) will eventually prove that it was NOT the yamaha and then vital will implode.

Not to mention the fact that Dungey has these intangibles on his side:

1.) Roger DeCoster
2.) Tim Tebow
3.) Jesus H. Christ

You are high! What race did you watch? . What little mistakes James made Dungey made as well. The more James wins the lower MORAL in the KTM pits will get.

Also, I like how here you mention Jesus, yet in another thread you tell people to go back to high school and talk about learning causation and to get our GED after learning about this science.

First off, I think it is great that James is racing the outdoors and he's staying upright on 2 wheels to this point. This series would suck without him this year for sure and I'm very glad he's riding the outdoors. That said, Dungey has improved every single race of the series so far, consecutively. In that 2nd moto yesterday (RD's best race of the year so far IMO), RD caught up to and was dead even with James on 4 occasions, he just couldn't make the pass stick based on his line choices. If RD can continue to push James like that yesterday, he will hit the turf at some point this season. I left with the impression yesterday that Dungey had a lot more to be positive about than negative. There's a lot of racing left and a lot can happen. Something significant happens every year when the race pace is pushed as hard as it was was yesterday between RD and JS. I can assure you something will happen this season too, it always does. Let's just hope when it does happen, it makes the series more interesting, not less.

One thing is a given on Vital for the next 6 months. There will be a lot of "I told ya so's".

I hear ya, I dont want either one to hit the deck, I just want Stew to get his mojo back and run the table. Hopefully if this happens he'll carry that into SX and we'll get to see some real excitement.

Bubba has more in the tank. The last three motos have proven that james is in his comfort level at that pace.

You'd be surprised....

@ OP what is the H for?

Im hoping that is the outcome (Dungey wins title), but I wouldnt mind seeing Stewart win because he hasnt seeemed the same the past year and a half before the outdoors. Changed the avatar, hoping for some good luck, maybe I need to start praying for Dungey to pass JS, I'll try it tonight.

Still bitter the Yamaha is mauling people at the pro level?

Killed Millsaps at Elsinore, and dropped Regal at Freestone. Not saying its not a good bike, but it does some strange things that leave people wondering what the hell happened ex; Hahn going down a straight at Freestone last year.

The facts right now because everyone seems to love statistics here.... James is batting a perfect 1000 on his new team.

Dungey was right on Stewart's tail right until about lap 15 when he pulled out the fastest lap of the day and squirted out to about a 1.5 second lead. I think they are VERY close in speed but Dungey actually had more bobbles than Stewart did while Stewart looked very comfortable riding that pace. I think he only had one or two slip ups the whole day and on the one in the second moto where he got cross-rutted if he were on the Yamahopper when that happened he probably would have face planted right into the ground, but on the Suzuki he was able to easily save it.

Just want to point out, that on James' fastest lap Dungey also made a mistake in line choice in the sand whoops and got hung up a little which hurt him more time-wise than James running his fastest lap of the day, and he still only extended the lead to 1.5 seconds. Those two are hauling ass right now. If these two run this pace the rest of the year, one or the other (likely both) will hit the turf at some point. And again, for anyone saying "James has more in the tank", I'm not buying that one. Not safely going faster anyway. Yesterday he had a couple situations that almost bit him (as did RD). If either of these guys starts hanging it out there more than they already are, someone will hit the deck. I predict both will at some point this season. Those two were hauling ass yesterday (as evidenced by a 1:10 min win over the nearest rider). Just praying neither gets seriously hurt.

I agree. I doubt either of them has more in the tank to go faster SAFELY. They're already on the ragged edge.

What Dungey needs to do is start in front of JS and then ride like Alessi IF Stewart starts to pressure him. LOL!

My race team (Bullpen Racing) has not paid me in months. On top of that, they keep failing to get me the semi they promised me AND the bike is a pos (Yamaha). If I had a suzuki, semi, and a reasonable salary from my team (anything in the six figures), I'd be out there winning every moto. Until then, I'm gonna be reserved to winning the Grand National World Vet Practice Motocross Open 450 Championship at TCP every other weekend (if I can find $20 to ride).

Dungey started in front of JS both motos, but got passed by the 3rd turn.... I was there and it looked to me like JS had more speed if he needed it. Dungey is a beast at freestone every year and I expected him to win a moto. I suspect that his confidence took a hit yesterday. I think Dungey just missed his best shot at a win. I still would never say that "Stewart Will Win the championship". There are still 10 races and a lot can happen.

I agree to an extent about the confidence thing, he can take it as he couldnt pass him OR that he stayed with him the whole time both motos. I know I was frustrated myself, as a Dungey fan... I mean I was yelling at my computer both motos watching him .2 seconds behind Stewart and even pulling along side Stewart. I know Dungey wants to ride clean, but if you have to put a block pass or slightly aggressive pass then do it! I dont know if it was just that one lined that he couldnt make the pass or what the deal was, but it was pretty frustrating for me to watch.

I thought RD looked better second moto, showing a wheel and keeping JS honest the whole race. RD is always looked at as the slower, but consistent rider who can bring home a championship. I think he deserves to be called one of the fastest as well. The lead those two had over third place was ridiculous. I, for one, am glad JS joined the series, or RD would be running away with the championship.

X2

I have said for some time..........somebody needs to piss Ryan off at the starting line and get him in an angry-aggressive mood.
Kind of like that raace where his ignition took a crap and he thought he was done that moto last year, and here comes "Goose" with the Suzook and RD took off with a vengence in his eyes at FATE.
The guy damned near caught the race leader in that moto, remember?? It's a mental thing that Ryan's dealing with.
IMO he's a good natured young man, with polite manners and a good upbringing. Got a streak of meekness in him.
No room for that stuff in pro moto. As a one Ryan Villopoto will demonstrate real quick. Nice, good guy........
but when that gate drops, get the hell outta my way. Would've loved to have seen Villo race Stewart yesterday. Woohoo
