Tissues, to wipe your tears after you see the track and realize you came all the way from florida for this. Hardly a national caliber track. Daytona is more of a national track. Their is nothing on that track that a descent C rider couldn't do on his second lap except for maybe the wall into the rollers and it's done by many descent B riders.

After seeing RedBud, Millville, Lakewood and tracks like that it was a big let down to see Freestone.

Ive been to Unadilla and Broome Tioga, I was going to go to Budds Creek this year but I had something that conflicted it.

So Freestone being the next closest is where im headed.

It will be a good time. Best riders in the world going at it can't be bad. I'm just saying their is bigger, better tracks around the country and even a few in texas.

Yet Freestone is the one track that kicks everyones' asses. Even the winners are hammered after 30 +2.

This year I will be ready to deal with children driving uncontrollably about in golf carts and UTV's. This will deflate a tire in under 5 seconds, talk about performance.



But really Freestone is a great race it seems to always separate the men from the boys.

I don't agree with this at all... I've had the pleasure of riding that track and it's more difficult than you think. Not so much difficult as it is technical. The second jump after the start is pretty big (step down) and you have to be immediately on the breaks if you wanna make that left hander. Also the table before the texas 12 pack is not small either and then you have to be on the binders if you don't wanna double/triple into the rollers on accident. The rollers are a hell of a lot bigger when your actually on a bike and going through them than they are spectating from the sidelines. Not saying its a difficult track but it's harder than it looks on tv.

Oh and just fyi.... I'm a b rider.

Find ya' a spot between the VIP tent and the big oak tree. Easy to move around a little and see plenty of good spots on the track. And you can find some shade in the area as well.

with the exception of the leap, everyone does every thing at redbud too in the C class. sure its scary to watch, but its all table tops. just sayin.

Freestone's dirt is very soft and it gets rougher than a cob.

Anyone remember the last time Stewart was at Freestone? (I know it was a LOOOONG time ago...2008) It is worth mentioning because he tried to turn two singles into a double and jump over Millsaps' head! The GoPro is a good idea. Here's the only video I could find (jump is at 36 sec.)

dboivin, Not to get technical or anything, but that is why the TX race was moved UP one week for the last several years.
Its NOT run in JUNE!!!
Been run in May for what? 3 yrs now.
C'mon down and ride these tracks in July or August, and test yourself......
