Look at him go, he's turning consistent laps and they 2-3 seconds faster than his main competition...Moto 1 win was no fluke. Long live the chupacabra

Baggett was impressive, but didnt he win some like this last year then have a bad race the next week? Seems like he did but I cant remember for sure.

Hell Yeah! the kid was perfect today, and amazingly his monicker "Chupacabra" doesn't seem annoying at all now. Cool

true, he has to reduce the damage on his bad days...I thought Tomac would do a little better, but moto 2 he must have had a bad start or something, at least he got up to 10th.

I think Tomac was back in 36th or something on the first lap. That's probably worth an RC Hard Charger award for that effort. Did they pile up on the start?

He's gotta keep it up though cause he started last year like this too and then just lost his mojo for no apparent reason....

He was impressive, that first moto was one of the best I have seen in some time.

He was just sailing it into the turns trying to make up time.

Ya, let's see if he can handle the Texas heat next week before we crown him. We have seen him do what he did today as many time as we have seen him ride around stuck in 10th.

Unreal rides by baggett. He is an animal. Just got to stay consistent and then bring it to sx also.

His worst Moto finish last year was 16 other than that he got one 9th as well as one 7th and one 6th. So i don't know what your talking about with him being stuck in 10th multiple times

As much as I like Tomac, KROC and Marvin etc... I want Baggett to win the title. His speed, when he's on, is so James/RC reminiscent!

I hope he brings that level of intensity to every round consistently as he'll be amazing to watch.

With that being said, if his strategy is still the same.... ride around and then turn it up half way through the moto, that's a flawed plan!!! While it's exciting to watch for sure.... getting out early to a lead and then cruising in for the "W" is a much "safer" way to git r' done!

I think most of the greats always got out front as soon as possible...

Either way... I love watching that dude ride... he is an animal!

I imagine the strategy isnt to "ride around". but if he gets a bad start then hell just wait til half way through the moto to turn it up.

I don't if you ride or not but... if you are racing and not "turning it up", even though you may be going fast compared to others on the track around you, it feels like to you... you're just riding around! That's all I meant.

Yeah I get what you're saying . He looks to have a lot of reserved speed.

Yup first turn pile up. His bike was stuck under everyone else's. Nelson, Hanh, Tomac and one other dude all got collected.

Picked his bike up dead last and didn't let off the gas until the checkered waved. He was on it.

The only thing this video doesn't show is how far back BB was and caught those guys. Even like 5 laps to go he was soo far back it was crazy to see it all pan out. Nuts.

If you go back and look I believe you will find that he only crashed in one of those bad finishes. I don't understand how you can crash and come back to win, running 4 seconds per lap faster than the next fastest guy one week then start in the top ten and not make the top 5 the next week. That's all I was saying

He's got to be the poster boy for being in/out of the zone. But when he's on it I don't think there's a more exciting rider to watch. He's on another planet than the top riders in that class finding speed that seems unreal.

Hopefully this year he has "it" figured out! And he'll be just the poster boy for being IN the zone! I picked him as the fave for the title winner. I really don't think Barcia and those guys can find Blake's kind of speed, they must seriously be scratching their heads after the weekend.

I thought this same thing while watching Barcia's podium interview. He looked shell shocked.

Bagget's has a knack for line choice. He said afterwards that there was really only one fast line in each corner and it made it hard to pass. He was the only one using them apparently!
Also, take note, that's what he will do with a good start (2nd moto - relatively speaking, he is admittedly not a good starter)
250's are going to give use intense racing all year! I love it!
5/21/2012 4:21am
the 250 class was very intense racing and well entertaining, BB looked awesome in his victories and while I am not a huge fan of his, anybody going that quick has to be respected - fair play

roll on round 2, it's gonna be a good year

I know you wanted to cry when you saw Barcia get passed but it'll be alright. Lol. Once they started showing Baggett's time and focusing on him, I was rooting for him 100%. The only thing that would have made it better is if it were Tomac flying past all of them.

I am curious to see if Barcia keeps his new style when he starts getting beat or if he goes back to being on the rev limiter 100% of the time while throwing flying elbows. We haven't really seen him get challenged in SX since he appeared to have smoothed out his riding style.
