I just didn't know he would lose it that fast. Or the kids are just really that good coming up. Fuck me I guess. Coulda swore a few years ago he was like yea a few months training I could hang with dungey on an out door track. Ehhhh maybe not. Lol love seeing him doing this though. True love for the sport. That's what it's all about.

It looks to me like the speed is still there by a long shot. It was just a few little things (caused by being off the bike so long) that cost him in the Open Pro Sport. By Loretta's, I think he'll have those little things worked out.

Im gonna guess top 10. Depending on how he is training for it, he could surprise everyone (well, not surprise, he is the goat). I hope he wins them all, but I may be biased.

His speed is fine and he will do well but what some people don't realize is that some of these kids are going very fast. The top A class kids could run well at a national right now.

I was there taking photos that weekend for my site. He looked rusty but there was nothing wrong with his speed for the amount of time he has not raced. You got to understand, that Martin kid is on fire right now, winning every Amateur National I think he has entered over the last year, he's no joke either.

However, RC will be ready by Loretta's hide and watch..

He missed qualifying for the Pro Sport class by two places and says he will try to get into the Regional as an alternate. What are the chances of that happening? Like when Emig did this a few years back, I don't think anyone even really cares about his +25 appearance and only want to see how he matches up with the young blood.

He's obviously just doing it for fun or else he would be more "prepared". I don't think it would matter too much either way for him at this point, he's got nothing to prove.

I think that first race was just to shake dust off. I bet we will see a slightly fitter and faster RC come LL, which will result in quite a few more trophies for the G.O.A.T.

I just think back to how much he hated losing and I would not be surprised one bit if he has some sort of crash training going on at the farm being run by Jeanie's stop watch. We all know better than to bet against RC, after this I think some people will be in for a rude awakening at LL's. JMO.

I know for a fact that RC can hop on a supercross track and run the pace. And I believe he was even faster than him through the whoops. This was before the switch to orange.....

Big Rick stole the video! Remember standing on the fence watching the race at Glen Helen with him in 2000 or 2001, incredibly nice, humble guy.

RC will be tuned up in time for the show.

I heard the speed got sucked out of him by this guy getting ready for the nationals.

He will win :LL. But his time has come and gone, as far as winning at a AMA Supercross, or an AMA outdoor national.

He's a very smart guy, and he's always had good people around him. RC, and those who he trust made the right decision in bowing out at the right time.

He's one of the few that have been able to make that decision at the right time.

Camp RC is in full swing so there will be a 100% different RC showing up at the regional & LL's.

He's 2 years younger than Windham. I think RC could go pretty fast if he was in GOAT mode.

RC doesn't have the desire to get back into full on race shape......he has no reason to unless he "wanted" to race again all the time.

Trust me.......once you're fast.....you are always fast.....but fitness is everything. Your body doesn't do the things ( can't ) that your mind tells it to do. He handed Reed , Stewart , KW and a few more that line up every weekend.....their ass on a platter.....for years. Don't think for a second that if he was still in this sport full time......he wouldn't be doing the exact same thing right now. He would have evolved just like all the other riders.

He knew when it was his time....and he stepped down gracefully. He stepped down to a part-timer 6 race schedule in the nationals.....and won every friggin' moto!

The dude is a legend of all legends in this sport weather you like the guy or not.

Oh no, it wasn't going to be insight whatsoever!!! I was gonna go all wild crazy speculation, typically done by fans of "someone else", mixed with insane predictions just to be hellarious. Anyway, jeffro503 above pretty much summed it up with you. I was simply going to add some colorful commentary to it.

High road Dan... stay on the high road, do not be swayed, hehe.
