Hando....you are showing your ignorance bud.
How much money is "rich"?
I dunno. Now days, anybody that is raising a family and still has expendable income to afford one new bike every year, and make it to most the local races... I think that's reasonably wealthy.
As for things off the track, my opinion is that you're a "grown up" at 23. Go to a college party or hang out anywhere on a campus and even the seniors still do a lot of foolish things that they will end up regretting. Just my .02
A kid flipping burgers CAN'T slap someone in the head? Do you mean that there would be a consequence if he did?
You know Bogle was fined, right?
Pit Row
The difference between an adult and a kid: adults take ownership for their mistakes.
Calling someone older than 17 years old is disrespectful and takes the moment of "ownership" from guilty party.
Why in the fuck or who in fuck what would do that?
However Sully.... I would not call Hando ignorant. MX use to be the cheapest motorsport. The cost of racing has sky rocketed since the 1980s.

What money cannot buy: desire, will, and talent.
The question I have: how many poor kids with out support who have desire, will, and talent go unnoticed?
Great thing about motocross: body weight and heigh do not matter like baseball, basketball, and football.
Imagine Flutie at 6ft 2 and 220lbs? Think there would have been a Johnson vs Flutie moment in Buffalo?
You guys do realize that youre proving my point with every post. By giving examples of what made you grow up at a certain age, and then giving examples of pro mx'ers not being held responsible for their actions is proof positive as to why they suffer from arrested development and some of you more mature folk do not.
RC and MC werent rich either, but they certainly weren't poor.
Like i said, MOST of these kids are spoiled rich kid punks. MOST..not all.
jason lawrence doesn't come from money either..he was a punk...the alessi's aren't rich either, but they are still punks and spoiled.
(Im a huge Flutie fan btw, boy was he robbed)
Take that poor, humble, hard working, talented kid and put him in an environment where he is constantly told how good he is, wins races, gets pussy with ease, has people get him out of trouble when he makes little mistakes, and eventually, he wont be so hard working and humble anymore. Its just human nature. We are all a product of our environment to a large degree.
Part of being a successful racer is to be a bit of a punk. It takes tremendous self confidence. You almost need to be comfortable being an asshole and thinking that you can do no wrong and that your shit doesnt stink. It's something all the greats had in common while they were great. It doesnt make for being a very nice human in the real world, but it does make for a great racer on the track.
Jeff is about as down to earth as it gets.
And Mike is just locked in all the time. Focused on his job. But not a punk. I find it really hard to call Mike spoiled when he works as hard as he does for his craft. He absolutely lives moto. And he's earned everything he has, which isnt much because he's reinvested it ALL back into making himself a better MX racer. Spoiled he is not.
Many that know him would say that Michael Jordan is one of the biggest assholes ever. Intolerable. And very demanding and tough to be around. And you know what? MJ would probably take that as a compliment. Food for thought.
I always thought it was strange how some can seem to do no wrong and others can't see to do anything right, despite having the same opportunities.
I think the adult world is a sham as well!!
The top guys, regardless of how good they are, got their because of monetary support
