When I see a number on the track, I have certain riders I think of... even before you got a lifetime number...

Examples:
1 - George Holland (I can't remember him with anything else)
2 - McGrath / RV
3 - Jeff Ward
4 - Ron Lechien / RC
5 - Ricky Johnson (I know it's RV now but to me it will always be RJ)
6 - David Bailey / Mickey Diamond
8 - Erik Kehoe
15 - Tim Ferry (I also think of McGrath here)
22 - Chad Reed
20 - Jeff Matiasevich
45 - Damon Bradshaw
55 - Mike Jones
65 - Jeff Glass
100 - Bob Hannah
111 - JM Bayle
911 - Shaun Kalos
971 - Larry Ward

What are some that stick in your mind?

No one used it as a career number before Windham. When they started the new # system he got 14 and still has it.

Mid 80's to early 90's had a big influence on me. Hannah and RJ are two of my all time favorites. Also a huge fan of Johnny O' to the point that when I went to Disney Land I had a hat named Barty O' Show (my first name is Bart). At any given time... those riders come to mind when I see a number.

It's funny that I was at the hardware store getting some bolts and washers and the clerk said help me remember these prices, 17 cents, 22 cents, 45 cents. She thought I was crazy when I said Reynard, Reed, and Bradshaw!

My Son asked me if he could put # 28 on his bike I said cool, Bradshaw!!
I know 45 was his number but for some reason that 1 year he wore 28 also seems to stick with me.....

Same, with these two as back-up. Check out that "natural terrain" under Marty at Daytoner, c. 1978.

no one has 46 Valentino? The rider number of all time. So identifiable now it's virtually retired by everyone else.....
