How different would things be?

Chad tweeted earlier this year that he's glad he's not on a Suzuki....wonder why..lol

If?

I believe James would be in contention. But the title would still be up for grabs. Because James' problem isnt just the bike. He's winning practice and heats and then doesnt even look the same in the main. That sorta routine could be happening on any brand bike.

It's all about confidence. It looks like his is shaken right now, and if the Suzuki would have given him more confidence he would probably be doing better. That same RMZ obviously worked pretty well for Reed and Dungey.
But he tested it last year. If it was that amazing or that much better, I think he could have found some way to get on one.
Of course I wish he was on a RMZ, but that's mostly because there is one in my garage.

he could have found a way on it, but they're under pretty obvious financial stress. no way they are opening the war chest for what the kid is demanding.

He needs Larry Brooks!
He needs a Honda!
It's the tires.
No, it's the Bike!
He misses Sorby.
He needs a holeshot.

Then Suzuki would be getting bashed on the message boards. Bikes work the same in practice and heats as they do in the main. Is the Yamaha the best it can be, doubtful. James Had RC, then Ferry and then Reed get the bike he was riding set up, since 2010 he's been on his own. But is that the reason he's not dominating? Absolutely not, he's not dominating because he's not faster than 18 of the riders out there, he's faster than 15 or 16.

Even without the factory team, Gibbs could have possibly switched or he could have even worked some sort of JSE deal with outside sponsorship and leasing of factory equipment. I dunno.
I do think he can stop talking about 72 wins though.

Captain chokezilla. He's off the pace and when he tries to step it up he hits the dirt.. its not rocket science people. He is capable of getting g there. It will just not be this year. Having Chad go down will allow RV to back it off a notch if he so chooses and still wrap up a title. Fast forward to 2013 ans it will likely resume where it was 7 weeks ago...

What about on the new Kawi with all the good reviews and his history on one? Its not likely but it does make me wonder. I am willing to bet all the guys try the other bikes of thier friends or competitors if the opportunity comes about. What if he rode another bike and just knows he would be better on another brand. I have been there. i was thinking I was on it and dialed in and then rode my friends bike and could actually go faster easier right off the bat. I never could feel that great on my bike again, it actually messed with my head and my confidence in my bike was lost. Anyone else experience this.

either all of this or I personally think he needs black and yellow yamaha plastic, just like Broc Glover in the early 80s...its all about confidence you know. If he had black and yellow plastic there's no way he would've run into milsaps and stalled. And he would have cared about getting his engine running again.

It's so freaking obvious he would be doing much better on a Suzuki!!!!

I mean, those damn Suzuki's are winning every freaking heat and main they are entered in..

And that damn Yamaha, it was only designed to go fast in timed qualifying and heat races, during the main it functions much like, what..... oh, a Suzuki...

can we get off the damn bike excuse already????

He just needs to overcome whatever is going on in his head. In my opinion it was pretty indicative of how he feels seeing the 450 guys watching the 250 heats. CR, RV, Kdub, and even MA 800 joking around in a huddle sitting by the boat display. Bubba sitting by his lonesome facing the other way with his helmet on. I also recall him not wanting to be part of the opening ceremonies in Oakland. The old Bubba absolutely loved to ham it up. I really think if he could figure out how to make it fun again for a race or two, the whole night, we would see the old JS, crushing everyone.

I would guess that the average rider would not know the difference but I am wondering what the actual fast guys think about the bike issue.

He didn't choose the best bike. He chose money and what he thought was the best situation. The Coach was calling him daily telling James he wanted him. The whole NASCAR after MX also played a big part.

Not surprised he doesn't enjoy the opening ceremonies... the one race I went to this year (A1) there were more people booing at him than cheering.

I guess that comes with the territory of the sport getting bigger. I wonder how many of the booing fans have raced recently.

Jesus guys. Lots of talk about how fast JS7 was on a Suzuki on his practice track in Florida in the preseason... Lots of talk about how fast JS7 was on his JGR on his practice track in Florida in the preseason... Maybe JS7 is just plain fast on his practice track in the preseason but tightens up when there are fast guys on tracks he's not prepared for...

Yeah, that was before they totally redesigned the bike and turned the engine around.

all you fuckups that use this argument are...well fuckups, non racing fuckups. practice...heats...beating off...fishing....cutting a cake...slicing a pizza have not one fucking thing to do with the attitude and determination and desire of racing the actual real deal/main event/for all the marbles. so please folks....stfu

He chose a future past Supercross, saw JGR's facility & thought they had the resources to get the Yamaha where he wanted it. The later hasn't panned out yet, hopefully JGR get's something good under him before he moves onto nascar.

JGR says "James don't worry we can make the Yamaha feel as good as the Suzuki did to you". James says "You can start with slimming down the gas tank and radiator shrouds".

James tested on a Suzuki at his home track and bested his personal time by 4 seconds! And again, just like when I broke the news of JGR moving the Yamaha engine forward in the frame I can't say how I know. Sorry. Oh and just in case you are wondering why he is not on a Suzuki think of what they offered Roger.

Worry less about hardening the fuck up and worry more about making a complete sentence.
