let me help him.

Your job as a lapped rider isn't to move out of the way. Racing for 9th on the 17th lap doesn't mean move out of the way it means hold your line and let them find a way around you.

This bullshit of a sub 50 second lap time coupled with a set of whoops that can separate guys by two seconds per lap needs to end. There is no way you should be lapping up to 10th in a 20 lap race unless, maybe, it is an extreme mudder.

I've seen races where they have lapped further into the top 10 then that, RC and CR got near the top 5 at some races when they were pushing each other. So you want a whoop section that is a lot easier where everyone can skim the tops of no problem? great passing opportunity that would be.

The blue flag has always meant hold your line and dont do anything squidly.... The thinking behind this simplicity is putting the pass in the control of the faster rider not the slower rider by trying to guess which side to go to in hopes of not making things worse. In the last few years you are now hearing the blue means pull over or move over. It should never mean this. They need to HOLD THEIR LINE. And the reasoning behind this idea is that as the faster rider is approaching he is already looking for a line around the lapper. He also has no idea what the lapper is thinking. So holding your line being the standard lets the faster rider know what the lapper is thinking so to speak. In fact all racers will all know what they are thinking. Hold your line!

Now with the separation of rider speeds and low low lap times there is a lot of lapper interaction. When your guy has a problem you hate lappers. They no longer become racers but obsticles. When the help your guy by slowing the rider who is pulling away from your guy then they are just part of racing.

I agree with this. The thing that bothered me most about Alessi though is that he didn't once look over his shoulder to see where Villopoto and Reed were at. I think they really should hold their line in technical sections but in flat straight aways they should hold their line and slow up or just completely move out of the way. They are in their own race too, but at least glance over your shoulder when you get a blue flag.

when the blue flag comes out, and u know for a fact it isnt your ass thats leading, get the fuck out of the way, dont hold your line, dont speed up and try not to get lapped, just get the fuck out of the way!

This is the rider info handout and such good advice but i have never met a pro who handles a lapper holding them up and no pro who is getting lapped wants to be known as the guy who held up one of the front runners in a great battle for the lead. So the way i see it is begginer"HOLD YOUR LINE" Intermediate rider"be aware and probally smartest to hold your line. Pro" try not to wreck a good race between the leaders" so get out the way if you can.

Alessi is known for looking over his shoulder and racing behind him. Great Tony is going to try and get them to wave the blue flags all race long at Mike all the time so he doesn't look back!!

Can you imagine if all hell froze over and Alessi was coming up to lap Reed (and RV), and Reed pulled the same stuff Mike did on Saturday... Can you imagine the shit storms and tantrums? Never likely to see that day, but still.
