What if...
Eli Tomac started in at, say...Atlanta, and ran the four races (Atlanta, St. Louis, Daytona, and Indy) after that?
If things go smoothly tomorrow night, it's a strong possibility.
He did look good at the Monster Energy Cup on the big-bore, so it wouldn't be his first dance on the big-bore.

1) Tomac is way out front of him and Seely has nothing to lose by riding the big bike again.
2) It is very risky for the championship and especially after how close last year he was to it, would hate to see something bad happen.
If he does though, that will be cool to see how he stacks up.
Dungey did it a few years back (the year he and Jlaw were in it.....2008?) and came back to the west coast and cleaned house. KROC did it last year as well, with the same results. Tell Eli to ride a comfortable pace and not ride over his head and I think Geico and Honda will have top 10 results. That's the most they can ask. Eli's a smart kid.
What about the outdoors? Hahn, Regal, Decotis(he's east only for geico i think)
Pit Row
I was half expecting Barcia to fill in for Trey from the start when he missed the season opener with collarbone fracture. Oh well they know what they are doing. Can't wait to see how the 250 east plays out should be good.
More laps are spent practicing than racing. Thus - more risk for mistakes and injury in addition to less concentration.
In a race, you spend less laps and have a higher level of concentration.
I think when you look at it, if you're going to be on the bike it is better to do so in a race situation.
I said last year that Cole Seely would never feel the grips of a factory Honda again.
