How did the GM cash infusion from the feds effect them?
They are going down, badly.
Educate yourself.
Obviously they'd probably be viewed internally as separate business units (like Wal-Mart and Sam's Club) but they are of the same company.
All the other stuff you see (pulling out of MotoGP and WSBK) are not big deals. Suzuki has a very good selling streetbike. It doesnt need to be marketed through racing at the moment. Suzukis motorcycle sales worldwide are some of the best. And the company is in fine shape financially since they started to be more frugal this past several years. Outsourcing the MX team and pulling out of road racing is just more of the same smart business tactics that have already netted them good results. Nothing to worry about folks.
Pit Row
I waited for an 08....but they got held off so long I bought a leftover 07 RMZ 450. Then the new one came out late Spring and had the kickstarter/case issue. By the time they got it fixed nobody was buying anything....especially a bike they heard had an issue. Despite getting things sorted out and it being an incredible bike they've sold very few over the last 4 years.
There used to be more yellow than anything at the races. Awesome amateur support, awesome contigency, the Tony D Schools, different deals like their Good Scholar Program and the RM Cup.
I keep hearing these 2 stroke rumors and I hope it's true. Just waiting confirmation from somewhere besides an internet forum....
I'll put a deposit down on a new RM 125 right away!

My brother's a Kaw/Suz/Polaris dealer here in Southern IN.
He's sold 4-2012 RMZ 250's and one 2012 450 since last fall.
As we speak, he has a 2012 450 on the floor, and 5-250's coming in March, one of which is sold to my Son.
Dealers just need to order them.
And, Suzuki has 0% financing for 60 months, plus $500 rebate on the 250 and $750 on the 450.
The last couple years they've been focused on cleaning out leftover models.
Now they're only producing what the dealers want and trying not to over produce, like all the big 4 did a few years ago.
If the motorcycle side of the house is going under, the automotive side is not going to bail them out. That is not how it works.
Same goes for Honda.
Your assertation that Suzuki autos have absolutely nothing to do with Suzuki motorcycles is obviously false, as the company's own documentation shows.
"For the first time in nearly three years, Suzuki’s motorcycle division has posted a profit…or, the last time Suzuki made money selling motorcycles was Q2 2008 (the same timeframe that Bill Gates stepped down from his daily duties at Microsoft).
Making ¥300 million ($3.8 million) last quarter in operating income, Suzuki showed a mark improvement over its ¥1.8 billion ($22.9 million) loss it reported during the same time period last year. That turnaround of fortunes came as Suzuki posted ¥75.4 billion ($961.5 million) in revenue from motorcycle sales, up 8% over 2010′s ¥69.8 billion ($890 million).
While Suzuki’s financial fortunes are on the turnaround, the companies actual unit sales continue to plummet. Selling 642,000 motorcycles this past quarter (yes, twice as much as Harley-Davidson sells worldwide in a year), Suzuki’s motorcycle unit sales are down 21% as the company sold 813,000 motorcycles in Q2 2010.
This loss in sales volumes was primarily due to the massive sales decreases in China (-50% / 215,000 units), though Suzuki posted positive unit sales in in Japan (+10% / 20,000 units), Africa (+34% / 31,000 units), and Central & South America (+33% / 48,000 units). Also making the rostrum of negative sales trends were the big bike markets of the North America (-12% / 15,000 units) and Europe (-32% / 33,000)."

ive heard this a few times but no solid evidence other than hearsay
I cant provide any REAL proof. This is a message board.
All I can tell you is that they are moving into the testing phases soon. I think just endurance testing. Standard stuff. I know this because I spoke to the actual rider.
Post a reply to: is Suzuki going under???
