I think someone's tire might have hit his foot, and knocked it off the peg/brake pedal. He hit that corner in about 5th gear, completely wicked.

Those whoops are insane... That track looks so much more challenging than today's tracks. Especially on a 125cc. A lot more entertaining to watch.

Even as late as 2006, it was often a question if the 250Fs would be able to blitz the whoops. I remember being bummed (as a Reed fan) watching the 250Fs breeze through those whimpy whoops at Vegas 2006. Ah, what if?Wink

i've been very critical of the tracks the last few years... nothing to separate anyone...

that said, the tracks that guys like MC excelled on, really allow one guy to just dominate.

anyone who doesn't think MC was light years ahead of everyone when it came to supercross, need to look at the tracks they were racing on then compared to now. the single file one line tracks these days don't allow for one guy to just dominate the track heads above everyone else.

my opinion.

Today is whips everywhere, and in those days it was floatin over the trips. Elbows up and out. Sometimes knees out to the sides too.. I def. like todays style much better.

mostly to do with that thing under the gas tank with the bulbous pipe protruding from the front of cylinder. it fires on every revolution of the crank, has 150 less friction causing internal parts than a 4 cycle engine and produces about 80% more power than a 4 cycle of equal displacement. it is also about 75% lighter in weight. It revs quicker, is cheaper to produce, and about 200% cheaper to rebuild in the event of catostophic failure.

In some social circles, it goes by the street name "two stroke"
