Looks like he has a rock stuck in his linkage. Bent shock shaft? Gear lube instead of shock oil? Damn Yamahuckabuckhop is scary to watch. JGR must have got the Talledega specs confused with the Dodger Stadium specs.

It was bad decision to after the money instead of the bike. Sounds very similar to some french guy.

To be fair, JS7 didnt have many options.

He literally had three choices... do it on his own a la Reed on a suzuki, ride a honda with reed, or go JGR (which I still think there were some legal issues pushing him that way with yamaha)

So, virtually no support on a bike you like. Complete support on one of the best bikes in the pits but with a guy thats been your mortal enemy for 6 years, or go where you trust the team (JBone) have full support, get paid, and squash any possible legal concerns.

Hey he went with $$ and the Nascar "in" instead of the better bike. No doubt JGR is top notch, but with three races in the books and to be 19 points down - it is not a great start.

Not if it's a one year deal. At this point in his career you can't really blame him for taking the money. He has won pretty much every title there is to win and James seems to be pretty upbeat about the whole situation. If he is happy with it we as fans might just have to adjust to the fact that he isn't as pressed on winning as he is with securing his future. Just MHO.

You suppose that the suspension engineers at JGR don't have access to the same ultra high speed photography that Suzuki had? Someone needs to do some homework. Stewart obviously doesn't have the ability to relay to his team as to what he needs. It's up to the team to figure it out. Maybe a phone call to Houston would help.....

I just have a hard time believing he's happy with it, he's a fierce competitor. Most top athletes that are that competitive, don't like to settle like that just for the money.

All if us can speculate, but only he knows if it was a bad decision "for him" though.

I say they are still learning from each other and will sort it out by the end of the series and will be in contention for the championship. Davi finished 6th in the main and his bike set up looked smooth.

Yeah, but he knew what he was getting into and if he isn't happy that's on him. From the interviews and comments that I've read he seems to be fine with where he is at. He's still getting paid big bucks to ride and that seem to have been his objective. I'm not saying that is a bad thing though. Get what you can, KW has been. Maybe Yamaha wouldn't let him out of his contract, but again, he knew that he didn't like the bike a long time ago. He has got to live with it now and do the best that he can. That's just MHO.

Pretty much. But Stewart was fine on that bike for the first half of last year. It's like a night and day difference between JS 2012 and 2011. Last year, he did have his crashes, but he still looked fast and fairly comfortable on the bike. This year, it really looks like the bike is holding him back. It's like he can't push at all.

JS7's suspension guy from last year is now with 22 Motorsports. Look how Chad and the Honda look now. Maybe somebody should have listened to that guy last year for a change. Go Sergio and 22 Motorsports.

If he cant set up a bike that hes's been on for most of his big bike career what makes you think he could hop on another color and jive? green, red shoot hurricane purple.....it's not the bike-

All I know is, right or wrong, if I got a new bike today I would not be sending the suspension off to JGR for setup. What I don't get is if there is a setup issue now what was he so stoked about on the initial test bike JGR used to court him? That should be a good baseline since there were claims it blew his '11 bike out of the water on a SX track. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it seems to me he was riding better in general last year as far as looking relaxed, scrubbing everything and finding weird quads etc.

Typical primma donna behavior to blame anything and anyone ELSE for his own failures. I can't remember the last time a top level rider seemed so prone to blaming the bike while they still rode for the team. Of course, MC famously lambasted the suzuki AFTER he retired but back when he rode the bike, I am pretty sure he still praised it every week. Am I wrong?

Octane, Yes he should of went with the Suzuki. But James wanted the money ! He gets what he went after. Plus it's hard to keep blaming the bike when Dungey is kicking a bit of ass on the KTM.

I personally am sick of people making excuses. When I get beat, I get beat no matter the reason. It is all part of racing.

This is what I'm wondering, James was making all these claims how much better the JGR bike was and yet he's still making the same mistakes as last year. He sure hyped it up like he was going to win the championship easy with the main focus on beating MC's win record over the next 3 years. Still a long way to go yet but he's dug himself a hole already for the series.

Yep- wasnt he tweeting 53...thats all Im saying. And posting vids of sick quads and rythm and telling Jbone to get the red plates ready...etc....I think he underestimated these guys because he was soo comfy on that bike coming into A1.

What Reed did last night was magical and RD was latched onto him like it was 2010 A1 before he made that mistake.... James is used to checking out not thisso it's gotta be the bike right? (sarcasm)

Is this shit ever going to stop? I mean Villopoto went off the side of a freaking tripple for shits sake and then parked himself on a tuff block but there is no discussion about his bike set-up. Just about Stewart's bike setup...for the 10,000 time. Who gives a shit why Stewart went to JGR stop over-analyzing decisions made by riders. I'm sure at the time that made the most sense for him.
