...then this is a bad sign.

If they've pulled their primary support in NASCAR and moved it to another driver, then this does not bode well for RC.

I hope he's been able to stash away or invest what he's made, because this could potentially be a death sentence to his driving career.

Why would Monster pull their support? Was it because he didn't progress quickly enough for them or was it results driven?

It would be interesting to know what really went down.

Will this bring RC back more than he has been into the SX/MX scene as an alternative income opportunity?

I hope not! I hope he was smart enough to square himself away. Still sad though if it pans out this way...

Truck series has a limited audience. RC has not proven to be a consistent front-runner. His marketability has waned each year he's been out of MX.

He's been fortunate that Monster has stood by him and financed as much of his car efforts as they have, especially considering they only picked him up in '06 or so, right before he retired.

interesting....but it didn't say RC was dropped.....

DV12 said RC has more money put away than any MX racer from his pro career, and supposedly RC is very frugal. You saw that car crash pic. that was no Lambo. and you know he lives in Tallahassee in the middle of nowhere in a ranch style house, not in San Diego CA.

I'd say the guy is doing just fine.

Now Tiki Barber on the other hand, that poor bastard.

You have to be able to read between the lines a little here. Why keep RC with the Bush brothers competing in a series RC competed in?

Doesn't Monster support multiple teams in the Sx/Mx pits?

OC, I have no agenda... Other than 2-strokes! Not making up shit as you suggest. Ask FLRider his opinion on this as well...

Then you can say we are both full of shit and have an agenda...

This is unlike you to make an attack like this. I stated I don't have confirmation, but simply reading between the lines.

Chill out man...

OC or GuyB, Why don't you give RC a call to find out the truth so we can stop reading between the lines?

Kind of weird though, at the press function they had McGrath, Twitch, Johnny Greaves and couple other "Monster" athletes and no RC ????

I'd say Charles is right. RC was once on a MTV cribs episode showing off his huge house, but ended up selling it for something much much smaller that was on a later episode of cribs. He seems like a smart simple life kind of guy, so whether or not Monster dropped him, I'd say he's set for life.

Actually if you read between the lines in that article, it clearly says that Chad Reed will win the SX title this year.

You call that an "attack"? c'mon man. Put on your big boy pants Cool

"Reading between the line" is a lot like "assuming" and you know what they say about assuming lol

IF he wasnt under the big "M" umbrella, i doubt we would of seen those pics of his bike just yesterday with huge M's all over it.

...and if he wanted to, he could prob fund his NASCAR efforts on the change he finds in his couch cushions lol Yea he is that well off. Woohoo

*and here is the bike pic he posted yesterday

It is my understanding that in his auto racing, Monster has moved from a primary sponsor to a secondary sponsor.
That does not mean he was "dropped," but does mean his level of support may have been reduced.
Kyle Busch is a solid investment in NASCAR, and will get more airtime than RC

This is not "new news" but has been going around for a while.

What's it show for RC and his sponsor?

EID, that was the reason for my question. To what level has Monster lowered it's support of RC? What impact will it have for him driving in 2012 and does he simply go to the booth for SX/MX support?

Don't know and have to wait for that.
I am confident that his representative team will find him additional monies

I can't believe this many people on an MX message board actually care about RC's nascar deal.

Post a reply to: If Monster has dropped RC...
