Best Hydraulic Scissor Lift

the company that imported them went belly up. I found another company on ebay and picked one up at their Indianapolis whse when I went to the dealer convention last year. Probably going to get another when I go back again in a month.

I use 2 of these in my repair shop, I sometimes could use a couple more, they are plenty stable, you can easily pull the forks and swingarm and shock while mounted on one of these.

I need one. At almost 55, I would rather be sitting and working than, kneeling and stooping over all the time.

One bad thing about scissor lift is they are very tall to get your bike on and they are very heavy....but stable.

The scissor lifts that are the size of a regular bike stank work pretty good until you start taking off wheels, suspension, subframe, etc. Anything that will throw the balance of the bike off front to back will cause teetering. I have used these in the past and I really like them, minus the teetering, because they are well built and mobile.

To solve the teetering problem, I drilled two holes into my garage concrete floor (apart 1 foot out from the sides of the stand and on center with the middle of the stand) and I inserted 2 anchor plugs with a 1/2" internal thread. I sank them flush with the level of the concrete. Then when I need to remove some components from the bike that will cause teetering, I put two "eye" bolts with 1/2" external thread into the threaded inserts in the floor. This gives me a place to run a tie down on each side of the bike which will hold it level. When not in use, I remove the eye bolts and put in 1/2" machine screw with a chamfered head. This plugs the hole keeping it free of debris when I sweep and preventing a tripping hazard the eye bolts would cause.

Obviously more industrial lifts, like the ones used in dealership service shops are the way to go if you can afford it. They have built in tie-down points, a wheel chock, and often times drop-out rear seactions for tire removal while on the stand.
