.....see you at 2012 MXoN, don't miss it!
I believe the sheeple still look @ the big 4, like nobody else could compete. But, that is changing.
Before you go out and start blindly stating a publication is full of it, why can't you do some homework to disprove it? Seems uneducated slander & low reading comprehension is more your style.
2012 KTM 350SXF: Although controversial, the KTM 350SXF is a sales success. It is KTM’s largest selling model (and KTM sells more offroad bikes than any other brand).
It's under a pic of the bike.

"IT IS CONTROVERSIAL, BUT IS THE 350SXF A SUCCESS?
A: You bet. Regardless of what the keyboard commandos say, the American public has embraced KTM’s 350cc, mid-sized engine philosophy. The 2011 KTM 350SXF was KTM’s biggest-selling bike of the year. How big? The sales numbers rivaled the heyday of 125 two-strokes, eclipsed 2011 250SXF sales and shattered KTM 450SXF numbers by four times.
So for me, this says. The 350 is a success, and regardless what keyboard commandos like myself say, the "AMERICAN PUBLIC HAS EMBRACED"
Usually people will make a statement like the above then use some source to back it up. Therefor the 350 was the biggest seller, outsold 125 2 strokes, out sold 250 and 450, there for it is accepted by the American population.
My observation and question was if the 350 mid-sized engine was accepted by Americans, you would thing you would see them out on the track and why would KTM have to promote the350 if it was already embraced by Americas.
They then said this
"2012 KTM 350SXF: Although controversial, the KTM 350SXF is a sales success. It is KTM’s largest selling model (and KTM sells more offroad bikes than any other brand).
Q: WHO BOUGHT THE FIRST-GENERATION 2011 KTM 350SXF?"
(1)Goldilocks buyers:
(2) Vet riders:
(3) Play riders:
This suggest MX racer.
Posters here started saying the KTM 350 was a success in MX and those of use who say otherwise contradict facts, but they are not facts. I agree the article suggests that it is a success with Americans, and it is the best seller here and Americans embrace it. So I could see how other posters get this impression it is a success in American MX. But it is not according to my observations and to races such as the Vet race in Glenn Helen and the Lorretta Lynn race both which have their standings and the bikes particpatiting and observations at the local MX tracks. So I state my observations.
For the record. I do not hate KTM. I just think the 350 and linkless systems are a bad idea that will go away in time. That is not hate, that is an opinion based on available information.
I don't think Roczen or Musquin will do that, Thats what I am waiting for. The next MXON should follow history as we have seen in the past. Sure something could go wrong for the Americans, we know that has Motocross goes, but you don't win MXON year after year as some fluke your riders are on the same level as the Euros.
The best riders in the world. RV RD JS.
Just wondering.
Suggesting Cairoli crashes out to save face is a rather unusual and twisted thought I must say, however if this were the case it would be a hollow victory for your riders, anyhow he has beaten Dungey and Villopoto in MXdN races so that unique thought is absurd IMO
"Suggesting Cairoli crashes out to save face is a rather unusual and twisted thought I must say, however if this were the case it would be a hollow victory for your riders"
Not really, the real reason he would crash out is because he cannot beat them.
It is two bad the FIM doesn't allow America (because it is such a large country) to send to teams to MXON so we can give you a double beat down. LOL
Now back to the topic. I don't hate KTM, Caroli, or Roczen. I like to beat down the Euros a little when they come over to this board and try to tell us their Euro riders are as good as ours, cause their not. I also had to call MXA out because the conclusion and supporting evidence doesn't lead me to believe how well the 350 is embraced by Americans in MX.
Pit Row
It would be easier to take a 450 for holeshot power then detune it to a 350cc machine horsepower wise after the first turn to make it easier to ride. That might be a good idea. It may be a good idea to take a 250f at that weight and put a 350 engine it it to make it handle better. But I think it is stupid to take a bike that is heavier than a honda 450 and cut its performance. I think most racing engineers would think that.
The real Italy's problem is that we have just Cairoli who is at the same level of American rider...
Dungey? Oh you mean our rookie 250 rider who moved up to a 450 for the MXON. I would have hoped Caroli would could have beat him and our b team.. but in the end, he didn't because he seems to always crash out.
I have been following motocross since 77 when I first started racing. But you are correct, Euro Championship racing just wasn't something that we watched since America would destroy the Euros year after year in MXON, we already kwew who was the best. I find it more fun now that I am older to watch the Americans destroy the Euros year after year, may even travel to the race track in Belguim call Hovel I think if 2StrokeBarret hooks me up.
Herlings did almost the same at the most recent MXdN at just turned 17 he stepped up to ride the 350 to a 2nd place finish beating Villopoto too
A few years ago, when RC was all the U.S.A had going for them, you all looked at it like you still won. Even though, all RC did was win his moto's. Which is effectivley the same as Paulin etc.. Think about things more! When Belgium dominated at Zolder, Everts literally let RC past him. Why? He had nothing to prove. Yeah, you may be on a role at the des nations team wise. But look back to those days.. I'm sure if Cairoli didnt have the personal stuff going at the des nations this year, he would have put up a good fight!
Back to the actual topic, instead of the GP vs. AMA BS...
The facts are these:
Alessi and Short are literally incapable of showing the bikes full capability.
Cairoli is the complete nuts on a bike! Remember Materly Basin? (Or too stuck up to remember that?)
Desalle showed you where the GP guys were at, at 'dila the other year. Hanging with Dungey both moto's (Not on his actual bike. He was in a foreign land, racing a different setup completely and whatever other lame excuse you Americans have when things don't go your way), AND: Cairoli kicks his ass pretty much every weekend (on the 350!!) (Sorry Moto Panda!)
Roczen beat your 4 time AMA champ, with 200 less cc's! "Ow, the 350 has 100cc less. Who's gonna win on that thing?" The evidence is right in front of you! Use your brain? (Or are you incapable of simply thinking?) Someone like Adam Ciancarulo could probably whipe the floor of your 350 hating ass, on an 85, with you on a 450! ("AC's bike is bored out.. Bla, bla!" It doesnt matter! You know why? Because it's LEGAL! Same as the 350!- Regardless if it's bored out to a 390!)
The 350 has two world championships to it's name. How can you write it off? Who are you? And how many world championships do you have to your name!?? Zero! SIMMER DOWN!
Sit here and pass your judgement on the bike, but have you ridden the factory 350? AND all the other factory 450's? NO! How can you possibly pass on a valid opinion of the bike, without doing such a thing?
If you want to be too arrogant and write off the World championship series, whatever. But by doing that, you can only base your argument on assumptions! And as the only Americans who have ridden the bike, are only top ten guys (Which is where they finished!) You can't put down the bikes capabilities, or simply say "RV, RD, Reed, Bubba or Trey wouldn't win on a 350" I could turn around and say: "I could lap every rider in a 450 national on a PW50" It's complete sh*t! So until you have some proof to actually base your argument on, simply don't waste time commenting. It's pointless, boring and makes you look like a giant d*ck!
Come back when you have a valid argument!
Kind regards
