Yeah they dropped the ball, but at least they had a shitload of other cameras catching all angle. No complaints here.

i completely understand how hard that was to film live with the fog. be patient and watch the highlights. they got the shots. jesus the live action only lasted 3-4 seconds. what do you expect? you must be too spoiled with football and baseball live shots full of a bunch of dudes standing around for hours at a time.

This X 1000 ^^^^^

And if you guys do have a beef, blame the production guy in the trailer that calls out what camera to go with. The guys on the cameras just point and shoot.

Looked like a screw up to me, seemed like they were concentrating on the shot with bike & skimobile, missed how close it was to the jump, then took the wrong camera. Not something you put on your CV.
Sure the fog was there, but was still sloppy & given they'd had three runs with Maddie to test timing/camera shots no excuses.

Hell, at least we were able to see the lovely and oh so gorgeous Jamie LittleSmile
Glad both those boys made it through the fog safely!

Brilliant observation Rupe...and that's even after giving the four stroke a huge head start!

i got the impression since it was live that they did the camera stuff on purpose......as if, if someone died, they could spare the viewer!

In a related discussion, the AMA has decided to allow 800cc 2-strokes to compete in the 250f class next year. Only caveat is you have to use a thumb throttle if you go with the 800cc monster.

the camerawork of the jump was terrible. just like x games. these guys just dont understand jumping/airtime/filming and can't get it right.
TerryK I dont agree with you at all. All the other cameras were of the approach and landing. Only 1 jump shot shown over and over. They didn't get ANY other angles.
Terrible....AGAIN

I thought Maddo and Levi went to the moon at one point.....(at least that's what the camera guy/director thought what was going to happen).

Yet if this was an Mx/Sx race the same people would be saying don't make suggestions on how to improve the events/don't complain...
1/1/2012 10:30am
I just watched it for the first time and the camera guy was wayyyyyy to tight on that shot. The average viewer watching wouldn't realize the magnitude of the jump watching that. Awesome job by the riders but the production crew ruined it.

What?? I've seen at least 4 other angles, all on ESPNs site. Are we talking about the same jump?

that 450 had a JGR motor in it, which doesn't even compare to a CR500 motor with just.....jetting.
